Found myself a great wonderful....1965 quarter today lol so close! it even looked slightly less brown then the rest of the coins I pulled out but sure enough look at the edge and you see copper :-( haha Time to keep hunting.

I hear ya, my hunting buddy dug a '66 quarter today and it had him going for a sec, it was pretty shiny for being 5" down...

Silver quarters where apparently still stamped through 1967 just finish up leftover blanks I guess from what I read but anything post 64 is very rare as far as actually being silver. The check the side method always tells you though.

ARRGH!!~ Those 1965 quarters always get me! and it always seems as if the 5 is covered up by a bit of dirt, so you are thinking "...could it be?"

my worst stretch of those coins like that was around 15 or so in a week..more dimes than quarters tho. It does get frustrating huh
