Hi All,

I have a bounty hunter 1100 that wont power on, and I have tried new sets of batteries and it is out of warranty. Any suggestions. Thx and HH

If you're handy with a soldering iron, try replacing the capacitors.

Jump out the switch to see if its a switch problem.

I recommend this 2nd.

1st - Before all else, make sure you're getting power to the board/switch from the batteries. If you have a voltmeter check to see that you're getting power to the unit via the batteries/connector wires. Sometimes connector wires or solder joints will break and just need to be replaced or re-soldered.
Once that is confirmed, next in line would be checking the switch.

Rule one: Always start with the easiest thing first and progressively move up from there.

Replacing electrical components is fine, but can be a snipe hunt without the proper diagnostic equipment.

Just my 2c.

Before cracking out the volt meter, I'd check for the obvious first.

Try turning it on with the coil disconnected to rule out any coil damage causing a short.

Clean off the battery contacts with electronics cleaner/rubbing alcohol.
