Hi! Been a while since I've posted here, I've learned quite a lot about detecting in the last couple years and have had many amazing finds. So this last week we had a big storm hit the coast, and I had a great day detecting and found a few rings. This one stood out the most to me. I found an 1877cc Seated Dime just before this ring so this ring certainly has the potential to be very old. I've been doing research and a couple characteristics of the Art Nouveau style were the use of pearls with smaller diamonds (diamonds were more of an accent than the main feature) as well as "whiplash curves", which this ring seems to have both. That and the amount of corrosion this ring has leads me to believe it's also very very old. However I know that the style had a revival in the 1960s as well. The pics show the makers mark and hallmark, before I cleaned it up, and after I cleaned it up a bit. Just wanted to see what you guys think, could it be an original piece over 100 years old?

I’d try and look at that makers mark a bit clearer and try that route for a date range, congrats on the gold and seated coin!

I believe in 1907 they made it mandatory to mark your gold. While it could be older, I dont think it is quite as old as the dime. Cant say I've seen that mark before, hopefully someone comes along and ID's it. Congrats!

I'd say about 1920 would be about right maybe. Definitely worth having it professionally cleaned IMO. Maybe real pearls/stones.
