    A good hunt...

I've probably cleared 150 rings already this year, and I've been hunting less than ever. I've found that I've been able to use the Garrett AT Max to really hone in on penny signals that "aren't" pennies. The difference in sound is subtle, but has really improved my find rate digging up rings...

    FIRST GOLD EVER.

My first ever gold. I've been detecting for about a year, I've found 11 rings, my 11th being this beautiful 14k white gold Frederick Goldman rounded step edge ring. The rush was like nothing else. I feel like an actual treasure hunter.

Newbie - what’s this ultralight stirrup looking thing

Is strangely light. Even though looks rusty is not steel. Is the size of a ring but looks non jewelry like. Suspect 1950’s era but anything’s possible

    Possible Art Nouveau Ring?

Hi! Been a while since I've posted here, I've learned quite a lot about detecting in the last couple years and have had many amazing finds. So this last week we had a big storm hit the coast, and I had a great day detecting and found a few rings. This one stood out the most to me. I found an...

    Pewter ring with peace-like symbol

Here is another find from a historic farm area in upstate NY. It appears to be an old pewter ring ( quite heavy). The symbol is similar to a peace sign, and it may be that, but I am not so sure. There are no internal markings I can see and it is very worn. Any help is appreciated.

    Ring #2, First Token

My first ring was iron junk. This would be what? Rang in the silver and copper range.

Silver Ring - 2nd of the year

I have not had much luck with gold, but this is my second silver ring I have found. If anyone knows what stone this is, I could use help identifying it and a value guess would be cool to have. (saving up for that Minelab Equinox 800).

    New Member from PA!

Hey all! I am brand new to this forum after detecting for ~2 years on and off. I just graduated college this past spring and have started my full time job as a biochemist. I typically spend my weekends at the beach (Wildwood NJ) metal detecting the shore for treasures :cool3: . I just...

My First Gold... It's Plated Too

A few days ago I went to a nearby park. My sister & I were MDing at the baseball/soccer field and there were signals everywhere, so we're definitely planning on going back. :mder: I found a cool coin spill of 2 quarters & a dime stacked directly on top of each other. :cool3: We made our way...

Finally the Ground has Thawed - I Found Some Cool Copper Jewelry!

Well, it's been a looong winter (like always) in Minnesota! But at long last, the ground has started to finally thaw out - well, at least during the day. It still freezes again at night sometimes as it does still get to the low 30s. :( Anyway, made it out a couple times last week with my new...

How many? Cleaning and reusing items

I was just wondering if any of you cleaned and reused or make crafts out of your finds? I would only do this with non historically relevant items while preserving the. I have pulled up old bricks and large pieces of iron which I cleaned, coated, and epoxied to tiles for keepsakes for the...

Equinox 800 sniffs out another golden ticket with ice!

Ice, ice baby - too cold! Summer isnt over, and the temps have heated back up so I once again abandoned the dirt in favor of the beach. I found this fairly early in hunt and hoped for more but this was the only goody today. It's marked 14K! I hope the ice is real. I'm going to have...

First old coin after 10 years

So I've been metal detecting for about 10 years. I've found plenty of jewelry, but only one wheat cent and no silver coins. The way I've always rationalized it to myself is that in in California we don't have dozens of colonial coppers and $5 gold pieces per square foot like the East Coast guys...
