PVC digging tool and pinpointer picture

This is a picture of the pvc digging tool that I cheaply made. It works great. There is also the homeade pinpointer that I made from a ryobi stud finder.

Nice Capt Clad, thanks for posting a pic of your inventions.

The digger looks like it could cut a nice little plug.

Can you tell us a little more about the homemade pinpointer?

Basically I took the studfinder apart and added small insulated wire to the sensor, then I drilled three holes in the side of the ryobi. One hole for the wires to run through and the other two to mount the small pvc pipe. I mounted it on with small bolts and sealed both ends with pvc caps then sealed the holes with silicone.

How exactly does it work? The stud finder doesn't make a noise does it? Or does it vibrate? Or it gives you a digital readout?

It beeps just like the stud finder, but the stud finder has to be in deep metal mode to work.
