For me,
is this 1930 Puma coin that I found 2008 at this corner
near the stonewall down this field with my Wildcat in
aprox. 3 inches depht.
The coin didn't sink much that much in more than 70 years !
- and it is a fine black ground.

It seems that I have posted this coin a few times but since I know that I will NEVER find another gold coin here it is again. Found in 2008 with my Bounty Hunter in a sanded exrecise pit that's part of a vita course at a local park - an 1876 Otto-Turkish Empire 100 Kurus gold coin.

Turk coin

The Turk coin is beautiful.

Is the Turkish coin in commemoration of a historic event or did they use a different calendar than the Gregorian? I ask this as the numerals ١٢٩٣ appear to denote 1293.

Cheers

I was told at the time when it was identified that 1293 from the Arabic calendar corresponded to 1876 for the West.

Here's one of my favorite. An 1835 half cent. Iis my avatar on both here and TQ. I just love the green patina. I also put a pic on of the location I found it.(The snow wasn't there at the time:grin:)

This is the nicest coin I ever dug. It is also my first Barber coin. I have about 20 dug Barbers now, but this one is the prettiest.
