Yet another silly season of "The Curse of Oak Island" coming up!

At this point they have it made. They have their audience, they have the same ole story and they have ratings. Really nothing needs to change until the ratings start to slip. For the people on this show and the History Channel every week is a treasure.

"On March 12, 2024, The Curse of Oak Island ranked as the #129 most popular show online and also was the #1 most popular TV show on History."

Got this info from the televisionstats website. Has a lousy ranking of 129 overall, but it's the History Channel's number one show. Doesn't say much for the History Channel, now does it?

The only thing I believe they will ever find on the island is a clue........About the time the ratings start to drop they will magically find a clue that will lead them to another island. It will not be that there was never a treasure, it will be that the treasure was MOVED. :walker:. The execs at History are not dumb. The next island will be tropical. That way they can have 52 episodes a year until they spend years not finding anything. But damn, it will be good tv. The biggest issue they have is finding writers that can come up with enough BS to sell people. But Hey, I'm sure AI will be more than happy to help if it hasn't already.:chaplin:

Crickets chirping here today, so I guess no treasure was found, yet again. Twenty hours of absolutely nothing found this season.
More accurately, twenty hours of The history Channel and the Laginas' raking in the dough about no treasure being found. It's a strange world when there is more money in a treasure not being found than if there was in fact a treasure. :?:

All the millions down the hole imagine if they were to find something who would be the owner . Heck it could be dilithium crystals . Spock would claim logically pirates could not of had them only Klingons .The starship enterprise would claim them unless the Romlams had buried them there .sube

The playbook is easy to read on this show. Each time an angle runs it's course they just bring in another expert from a different field to spew the same BS. It COULD be, IS it, OH My that looks like gold gilding and well (We ALL know) since gilding has been done for thousands of years it surely means a treasure is nearby. Not only is it old it COULD be the Blah,B;ah Blah.......When the ratings start to suffer to the point the show is done will mean no one is watching it and that those who did will just quietly change the channel. This is the point that the rest of us will be vindicated in our observation of BS. And yes, we know well ahead of time we will get no credit for this observation. All we will get are the quieter and quieter sounds of ........They Moved the stinking treasure OK!!!!!. Maybe then we can move on to some new show.

Here's the writup for the premiere episode of Season 11 (unreal that it's still around)! What a joke!

As Rick and Marty Lagina and their team relaunch their quest to solve the Oak Island mystery, they make a number of the most historic discoveries ever unearthed in North America.

What historic finds? Rusty nails? Pieces of rotted wood? A gold gilt button? How can people still keep watching this baloney?
They watch because they actually believe that a rusty nail and/or a rotted piece of wood is a "historical treasure". They fall for the Oooohs and Aaaahs that the Laginas and others spit out during the show. Maybe in the next episode they'll really knock it out of the park with their latest greatest find......a rotted piece of wood with a rusty nail in it.

They watch pop-culture icons making up stories based on wishes and dreams and think it means they are being educated... Because these people wouldn't have a TV show if they didn't know what they were talking about, right?

I gave up on the history channel as a serious venue when they started airing shows like ancient aliens as if they were documentaries rather than just extreme speculation and entertainment.

For the most part I've also given up on the so-called "History" channel for the same reason as you. What the heck does "Swamp People" have to do with history?

Just enjoyed viewing the total eclipse in my back yard.

Does anyone know if the treasure at hoax island popped out of the ground during the eclipse?
It did but it was too dark to see. Then as fate would have it the Illuminati snuck onto the island under the cloak of darkness and stole it. I'm telling ya those guys are STILL smart. It will take approximately 300 more episodes for anyone on the show to figure this out but when they do......That episode will be called......."Burned by the eclipse (The illuminati Experience)".
