I'm looking to buy a carbon fiber handle for my Sunspot Stealth 720. The handle opening is 1-3/8". My question is does anyone know the diameter of the carbon fiber handles from Xtreme scoops? Their website doesn't provide that information. I've sent two emails, haven't received an answer and no one answers their phone. Thanks

I do think the placed closed last year? They had changed the name of the shop then they closed awhile later.
Looks like your up the creek with no handle..

Maybe some one will chime in.. if not I'll take the handle off of one of mine and measure.

He's inquiring about Xtreme in Texas. Not Stealth in So.Cal.
I believe the Xtreme is the thicker 1 3/8. I personally prefer the slightly thinner diameter shafts. You could always wrap the thinner one in duct tape or heat shrink to eliminate any wobble.

If you don’t find a 1-3/8” carbon fiber handle or just think it’s too expensive, you might consider these fiberglass handles.

This post is eight years old and my handle is still going strong.

Yes Xtreme in Texas. I like the way the handles are cut on an angle and that it attaches with an allen bolt inside the scoop along with the neck clamp. I know the handles are pricey but I've decided to bite the bullet.

The Xtreme's I have are not travel shafts. The one for their scoops is 1 3/8". The one they sell for the T Rex is literally about a human hair smaller. If you worry it's gonna be a bit snug you could use a T Rex one. But be aware the one for the T Rex does not have a tapped hole in the end of the shaft for a bolt.

Thanks Larry! That's exactly what I'm looking for. The one piece handle with the tapped hole in the end.

It's right on his web site , click on scoops , about the 4th down for Stealth scoops , it's a Trident cf handle .
I've looked on the website and there's no mention of the CF handle diameter. It just says "These carbon handles are built to be a perfect fit for the stainless tubes on the Stealth Scoops with the drill-free tube handles (quick-connect)" Thanks.

Contact Steve's detector rods. He has carbon fiber handles for all different brands of scoops. He answers his emails right away!

Stealth carbon fiber handle specs:

495 grams (17.5 oz) 47.5" long
1 3/8" diameter. Ground to 1.362" diameter for 6". ABS oversized and marked top car. HOLLOW, not filled with foam
Stainless steel 1/4-20 female threaded insert at the bottom, secured with marine epoxy. I was the first to manufacture carbon fiber handles and with all new products there are often bugs. I had a customer complain that the handle was working it's way out of the scoop. Carbon fiber is so hard (not like wood) that the scoop could not grip it well so I came up with the threaded insert at the bottom which now is copied by most makers of carbon fiber handles :tiphat:

You put it out there and others will copy, just the natural of mankind. Look how many copied the Excalibur PP modification.. thousands and still. Did the Excal CTX fitting endcap so one could change out the headphones.. ..hundreds copied. Also did the endcap for the excalibur, one could change coils ...
Oppps no one copied that one..to much work, plus demand was not as much. Makes you wonder if someone else would have had these ideas.. I think so.
