Will Clad go through without problems in CoinStar?

I used Coinstar all the time for my clad, like others have said, just wash them off. When I was 13,14... I would make about $30 a week detecting, which I would take every few weeks to the Cointstar, it's good money for someone that age. It won't take the messed up zinc Lincolns, but it use to take just about everything else. For the 10.9% they charge, I have no problem giving them brown clad. :D

You have a LOT of clad there. It would take awhile to tumble. It would really hurt giving coinstar $50 to take them but you wouldn't have to get them as clean as you would if you were to take them to a bank.

Me, I tumble mine as soon as I have enough to run a batch. Then, it gets spent in the soda machine at work or mostly giving to the kids for spending money at the pool/skate park. I never get the enjoyment of depositing a large batch of found coins
You're right, it all adds up. It's hard enough to get even half a percent interest on your savings at the bank or credit union (free coin counter). Throwing away 10% on your earnings to Coinstar is lousy!

I just recycled about $6 at my work's magic vending machine. $6+ in dirty brown quarters and dimes are magically turned into shiny clad........for free!:D

Before I started tumbling my clad, I would just wash it and run it through Coin Star. I would get a credit slip for Home Depot so I could avoid the fees. I still have a big pile of crusty zinc pennies that I hate to take anywhere.
