Who Said The Jersey Shore Is Dead ???

B.P. Have you hit Ventor as of late?

I'm actually considering having a group hunt get together for all of the newcomers to detecting in the area and introduce them to some of the more affluent beaches (Ventnor-Margate & Longport)..We could easily meet up at Lucy as a central point and then all branch out from there..Summer is coming soon and all of the fresh gold drops will follow..

Let me see what kind of response I get to the idea..

I got your back!

Excellent clad count now you need to adjust your Xcal for gold..... id say sensitivity at 2 and disc at 5 should be about right. What do you guys that hunt that beach think about those settings?

Dew, I hunt strictly in PP (All Metal) and my knob is like brand new on that dial as I couldn't stand the sound the Discr. mode tone makes..The hum in PP sounds to me just like my Compass machine that I have had for 30 years..

My settings:

Sens: Around 12 0 clock and 1-2 o clock depending how close to electrical interference... I have been to some super clean and remote locations that I crank sens way up without it breaking up, but cannot crank it at my usual spots..
Full Volume Maximium
Low Hum threshold
Discr at setting 0-2

I discriminate more from tone and the solidness of the signal..
Why I have not found any gold rings is a mystery or just bad luck, but there could be a few factors that I have pondered..
Obviously if you look at the variety of stuff I dig, I would certainly not have skipped over gold and the machine def hits on some really tiny stuff..

I'm in for a group hunt at the shore. I have a place in Wildwood Crest people can stay at if they have a long distance drive and we are in the area.

Settings

My settings for my excal are. Disc out only iron, sens at auto, volume cranked and Threshold at just barely audible. With these settings I can easily here smaller targets whisper in at 18-24". (pennies dimes, that size

NJAL..... that was a joke. I dont run mine like that but wouldnt you love to hunt behind someone with those kind of settings?

I'm not even going to click the button to read your response..

It's time that the Owners, Admins and Mods do something about you already...

Hey BP, depending on the timing of the hunt and when I'm up there I'd really like to hunt those secret areas with y'all. Oh, and the wings at Pic-A-Lilli sound great too!
