sorry about the hasty remarks just touchy about this issue as I almost spent my hard earned money on a machine that I would have POSSIBLY had to have sent back 2 or 3 times . I dont read dansoki on his forum my info came from another forum where people are very upset with whites about this issue.Yes more than one person is complaining . So if your happy thats great.

Easy there slick. Not sure where you heard they suspended sales, but a link would be appreciated if that's the case. I really couldn't give two squirts whether you believe what I say or not. I don't work for Whites and am not brand loyal to the point of making up stuff as you seem to be suggesting. As I said earlier, I looked at every post on the net before my purchase and came to the conclusion that the noise was mostly a few people, on Dankowski mostly, the main complainer seemed Bi-polar and smart as a rock, having a fit over an issue that they didn't even understand. Not sure what you're warning me about? Whites has spent decades, DECADES, building a reputation of great machines with great customer service. Some loud mouths, most of whom don't even own the machine, (yourself included I'm afraid), don't change the history or intent of the company. If I have issues with my machine and Whites fails to satisfactorily resolve them, maybe I'll sell off my machine and change my opinion of them. Until then I'll let their service TO ME and others over decades of building top notch detectors guide me. Glad you didn't waste your money on a colossal POS and am sure you know exactly what you're talking about....

I've simply been watching these threads because I'm always hoping for a better water machine, right from the factory... Not one you have to modify first for it to be usable..

One that's even better on small gold than the ATP...

A five year warranty would be ok..

If I offended anyone im sorry just almost bought one these and have been following post about them along the way and maybe Im the one being taken by bad info? contacted a guy who works for whites will get back to you on the sales .Are they listed as out of stock on the whites forum? Didnt mean to be so touchy but was just having a conversation earlier about people doing reviews the Paid people and how they always give you the good and not the bad.

Wasn't trying to come at ya all mad, but if I'm being called a shill I wanna at least get paid for it! People love to sensationalize the negative. When the AT pro came out it was getting bashed left and right for the issues it had. Same with the CTX 3030. I still admit that the cracked screen cover deal sucks. But like I said earlier, there's a reason Whites has the reputation they do and that means a lot in this world of Chinese knock-offs and low quality junk for cheap. If we can't support an American company making products for a relatively small cross section of consumers right here in the USA, we'll never bring back the manufacturing we need to get out of this massive !!!! hole we've dug ourselves into. I stand by my choice in shelling out my hard earned money for the MXS and will continue to do so until I have an issue that Whites can't correct to my satisfaction, which I don't think will happen. I haven't even boxed mine up and sent it in to fix the screen cover yet because I have a few sites I'm excited to use it on and will do so without reservation and then I'll box it up and use my M6 until it comes back. HH!

Just a quick question for you about this machine, Is thie learning curve for this (for a new MD'r ) going to be an issue? keeping in mind a limited schedule of hunting time available. All the reviews are great, but knowing where a machine falls 1 being Noob Easy to 10 Expert Detectorist would be a big help.

Don't know about small gold Ice, because I haven't got the coil over any yet, but I can tell you without a doubt that it LOVES BBs! They ring in fairly low and I pulled five or six at around six inches a couple weekends ago...

Ok went and started asking questions on the other forum about the sales being suspended do you know a whites dealer . Those guys CLAIM that the dealers are being sent a memo about the sales is it true? Can you find out from a dealer? They claim if a dealer is still selling them there not doing what their suppose to. Now if these guys made all that up well man they must have nothing better to do.

Grumpy, one of the nice things about it is that you can put it in stock coin and jewelry mode, set the sensitivity at about 5 or 6 and rock out. There are a lot of options on the machine to tune it to your style and sites, but it's pretty straight up right out of the box. I personally like it in relic mode with the SAT at around 6 or 7, the sensitivity at about 8 and VOC on. Threshold at 2. It makes a ton of racket set up like this but I like to run my machines hot and chatty. I'd rate it a 3 out of the box and all the way to 10 if you set it up hot and run 20 tones, iron grunt and VCO because it will make 10,000 noises all at once!

I don't personally know a dealer, but Kellycodetectors.com, metaldetectors.com, bigboyshobbies.net and multiple other online dealers are showing them in stock. I got mine off Jeff at Quality metal detectors, who was awesome and had the best price anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE! I'm thinking you got some internet hot heads blowing smoke up your tailpipe Calabash.

So on the forum you're talking about Calabash, it seems you have 3 guys bashing the hell out of the MXS and I'm not even sure the main one, sweeper60 has one. He suggested that Whites should pull sales of the unit and proceeded to act as if that was fact. There is no suggestion anywhere else that this is the case. The guy has 120 post on that forum in 6 years and is obviously an Australian by his word usage and grammar. Maybe he's a Minelab shill...The fact that tboykin, who IS a Whites employee continues to respond to the thread in a respectful manner with as much information as it seems he has to give is a testament to their commitment to their customers in my opinion.

The leaking reports are more than likely directly related to the cracks in the screen covers. I think I'll make a video and drown mine tomorrow to see if this is the case on my particular unit. If bought from a dealer you can ask them about the firmware version. As far as I know, all the units recently sent out to dealers have the most recent firmware version. This can also be confirmed by the serial number. I'd have to look it up again, but there is a serial number around which they switched to the newest firmware. If someone is okay with the fact that they may have to send their unit away for a week or so to get the screen cover replaced, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend buying the unit. There's no guarantee that it will or will not have cracks. Here is a picture of the cracks in mine.



If this would be your first and/or only machine and you weren't comfortable sending it off for a week to be taken care of, it may be a good idea not to be an early adopter, give them a chance to work out the bugs and go with a different machine. I'm usually not an early adopter of electronics because I know there is a chance there may be issues. White's stellar reputation and my experience with the build quality of the M6 are the reasons I went ahead and took the leap with a fresh release machine. Would I have done the same with a Makro, Nokta or XP? Nope.

Another quick note on the MXS. This machine is super sensitive. If you are the kind of detectorist who doesn't expect to hear anything in his phones besides coin sized targets at 10 inches or shallower with the sensitivity cranked, you're gonna be disappointed in the amount of chatter coming out of the MXS. I run my M6 cranked almost to the knob stop with no disc and it chatters a good bit. Okay, a lot. The MXS anywhere above 6 or 7 on the sensitivity on anything but the cleanest site is a noisy brain melting chatter machine. I don't run much if any Disc and small pieces of foil sound like they're trying to knock your eardrums out sometimes. If I were new to detecting, I wouldn't run this machine anywhere over 5 on the sensitivity and you're still in no danger of missing coin sized targets. Check out carolinacoinhunter's video when he takes the MXS into his test garden. It's banging coins at sensitivity 3! Go to about 17:15 if you want to get right to the nitty gritty.

I could never endorse a product that I know has to be sent in for repair as soon as you get it home. As far as American made? That doesn't exist. Some of the parts are always made on foreign soils. Those mfg jobs are never coming back.
