Hmmm, which one be your choice x Terra Pro,Simplex,or At pro?Any feedback would be appreciated :aok: .

AT pro. I have owned an AT pro and xterra pro. The AT pro is more stable however both are no good in salt water.

Who repairs X-Terras? What kind of depth does X-Terra have on all frequencies?Thank you.:chaplin: .

I just do beaches which i guess is similar to parks and without a doubt i would pick the At pro it is by far my favorite detector unless i'm going into the salt water the one advantage to me that is super important is not having to dig bottle caps and tent stakes which other detectors struggle with especially multi freqs,i know thats going to annoy some people but i've never seen a multi that was great on bottlecaps and tent stakes and i do use multis about half the time because of their salt water advantage

OP…as you can see, even asking that question…you’re really no further along than you were before. Do you have a price cap? The AT Pro is proven, but will cost more than the other two. The X-terra is frequency selectable. The Simplex also has a good following. So….punt.

The Xterra Pro has a beach mode, and from what I can see has no issues running near or even IN saltwater. On top of that, you'd be hard pressed to find a more capable machine for under 300$ right now. Definitely recommend!

That is a toughy. The AT Pro was my favorite detector for many years. I had the Simplex+, wish I still had it, and an X-Terra Pro. For my type of hunting, mainly tot lots and around volleyball & basket ball courts, I would use the Simplex. I liked the tones over the X-Terra Pro, and it seemed to have better balance. The AT Pro would just be too heavy for me now. VDI was much more reliable on the Simplex, if you use the VDI.

The XTpro won't run in salt water using beach mode? I just got one and haven't had a chance to get it in salt water, but I did use my salt paddle (simulates salt) and it seems to reject it just fine. It's my guess that in salt mode the XTpro uses a quasi-multifrequency technique to cancel salt, so it run just as good as a true MF in salt.

Asking for opinions on a new detector is an exercise in frustration because everyone will have different opinions. I haven't ever used an XTerra or a Simplex so I can't compare them to anything else. I do use an AT Pro and have had very good results with it. I'm sure others will say they had good results with the Simplex or the XTerra. Good luck with whichever detector you end up with.
