What is the best for old silver in heavy iron

What kind of depth you all getting with the AT Pro especially in trash?.

In the water easily 10+ inches. Once the coil sniffs out an irregular high or mid tone in all the iron growling low tone it kind of locks onto it and brings that tone out above the others.

It's hard to explain until you have heard it yourself but it works. I know other AT users know what I'm talking about.

Thanks IRONS and yes I understand and that is one aspect of the AT Pro I am drawn to. I like being able to hear the iron many may find it anoying but I beleive it actually helps you. Thanks again for posting..

I'm glad to help and yes this machine has amazed me with the 5x8 DD coil.

Here's a few pics from the beach I'm talking about. First 2 pictures is the finds with the standard 8.5x11 coil. I did good found old silver and wheats and 2 Gold rings. The trash is just a sample of what came up in the scoop with every single target!

At this point the beach was pretty much hunted out for me with the big coil, targets were blending and not much was standing out any more.

Now I went back to the beach on a few nice days in the fall with the 5x8 coil and it was like the beach had never seen a MD before. Gold, silver, clad on and on I will be able to keep finding targets here for a long time by going slow and gridding. I would be hearing the iron growling and then a high or mid tone would leap out of the constant iron growl. It was amazing to say the least.

EDIT: One thing I'm getting tired of on this forum is people posting comments on how their machine is the best at doing whatever but then never post any pictures to back up their research.
I realize this is the internets so any fool can say anything and that's expected, but unless your claim is backed with research and photo's or video that you actually took yourself I'm not buying a word of it.

If you want to claim your favorite machine is fantastic at doing a certain difficult task lets see some evidence.

I am always open to learning about any machine that will do the things I enjoy in my enviornment better than the machine I am using now, but it sure is a waste of time reading claims that might as well be bullfeathers because nobody is providing any proof.

Rant over. .

I hunt with a guy that uses a Teknetics G2. He specifically goes into heavy iron laden areas and finds amazing stuff. He finds it because the areas are so bad that other machines, even Etrac users, will not go there to hunt. He goes to old abandoned rail yards and immediately starts to find really great stuff amongst BIG iron. He finds silver dimes down to 9" consistently. He mentioned that it was because of the iron filter process the G2 uses. I use a T2 SE and do pretty good in iron with the 5" coil.

I had this same machine loved it but mine would not seperate well never tried the small coil though.

I was going to say the 5" coil can find things in some pretty heavy iron sites. My F75 was able to see things the Etrac my buddy had and that was before I got the 5". If the iron is that heavy I couldn't imagine spending money on a machine that isn't going to do anything more for me. It's almost like asking for a detector to tell you exactly what's in the ground before you dig. It's sometimes better to master a machine than to jump machine to machine.

I would agree with you on it's better to learn a machine than to jump to another. I guess I just havent found the perfect machine for me or mabey I give up to easy. I have found more with the Tejon than any other machine but I am not 100% satisfied with it and am wondering if there is something even better or more usefull. I found a lot with the F75 but I am finding more that I missed using the Tejon with the 12X10 widescan however when using the 5.75 coil I am not finding near as much and in my tests the 5.75 coil was not good at seperating targets as good as the stock 9x8 and am loosing depth at the same time. It could be me mabey I am doing something wrong. Thanks for your reply and comments I appreceiate it..

NICE FINDS!
you wouldnt want to see the pictures of the mounds of iron I have dug it might discourage a newbie  Fred Sanford would be proud though I think I hear the Sanford and son theam song when I am detecting:laughing: But seriously I cant complain I have found a ton of 1800 era relics just not enough silver. I cant figure that one out. Mabey it's just not there. Thanks for posting the pics and your help and Yes I agree It helps to see what you have found and is making me feel better and better about the AT Pro. Thanks

First texas products with 5" dd go deep and do well in heavy iron in hands of an experienced and patient user.

What is the best way to run any machine in Very heavy iron? any tips or tricks that would help?. I am not an amateur but I would say I'm not an expert either! I know to slow down and decrease sensetivity a bit but is there any other good helpful hints? Let me know. Thanks...

I'd pm Captian Silver. I'm not nearly experienced enough. Tight gridding multiple directions, small dd coil for seperation, dig one way repeatables.
