What do you do with your finds?

so the ones you kept will you pass them down to your children one day or when the time is right will you sell them?

We don't have kids, and I would be reluctant to sell them. To be honest, if
you added the value of all my finds together, it wouldn't come to a lot.
Probably worth more as scrap metal :)

I have kept all of my finds so far, I will probably end up cashing in all of my clad coins in the future and buying a new metal detector. Saving up for the Minelab X-Terra 705! I will keep all my silver and gold rings until I need to sell them tho.

Been MD'ing for four months now. Have clad and a couple gold and silver rings in a collander in my RV in Vancouver, Washington.

I have a Gatorade bottle filled with clad and ready to start another one in the morning, here in Salt Lake City, UT. As for relics like Hotwheels, shell casings silver rings, tokens etc. So far, here in Utah, they all landed in the same zip-lock bag. I haven't spent any of my clad or sold any of the rings.

I doubt that will last forever though.

Been using the 705 for a couple of months now, excellent choice. I haven't found any wheats, but think its a combination of location and still being a Newbie. That machine is a Clad/Older Coin VACUUM!! Knock on wood, I've never gone home without clad.

Yup, the Cash4Gold ads you see on TV are a total lie. The ARA company in Dallas is supposed to pay 98% on gold, I'm going to try them out after the holidays. My nuggets are burning a hole in my pocket!!

Dusty

Yep.I tried them out.Thought they had made a mistake but no,it was my items they were quoting me for.Even our local rip off merchant was offering more.Sold them on Ebay for 4x p.c.f.g offer.

I sell the gold jewelry I find.

I keep most of the artifacts.

I have donated some finds to the Military Museum
in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

One of the finds was this Civil War cannon primer
prick,

I have never found many arrowheads,, but that is one I
found over thirty years ago,

Last year I found out that it is a Dalton point. It is about
10,000 years old. The only older points are Clovis points.
I had it authenticated in May of 2009,

It is worth hundreds of dollars, but I will never sell it,

Nice display Tabdog

It's nice when you can donate items to a museum, so they can be appreciated by a wider audience.

My silver coins go in a lock box.
My clad coins go in a jar.
My interesting junk goes in a box.
Everything else goes in the trash.

No gold yet......

That's what I do. I also keep the little gold I've found in my lock box.

And to the south african guy:

We're not all in the Wild West. That era died 120 years ago and only 3% or so of the American population lived in the "wild west" 120 years ago. Most of that garbage is made up and on television. You see those old westerns? Well most of that never happened. Gun 'draws' never happened. That's all a bunch of crap.

Dang,,, I was hopin yu did,,,,,, lol

If I may try to answer.

The wild west was just life in the untamed areas.

That means, it is just life in general for the most part.

We tend to relate things to events.

For instance, This 44 cal cap and ball pistol cylinder I
found is Civil War period,

So, that, as well as this stuff could all be classes as
wild west sense they were trying to tame this area,

Farther west, came later in time.

So, it was just a period that was not as glamorous
as the myth,

You took me completely wrong but ok, I never said anything about South Africa.

we sometimes swing from trees though.

very nice indeed tabdog, now that is very impressive.

I was just talking to my wife about what you guys find and she commented on finding things here in Cape Town but our founding fathers only washed ashore in 1652 whereas you guys and the guys across the pond have a much older history.
