Living in the Tucson AZ area now
Picked up a new Detector and we keep getting torrential rains has been raining here for 5 days now off and on, now I am sitting here bored as all get out, and cannot even go try my new detector out, what kind of garbage is that even had a little snow two nights ago so I figure its going to be another few days before I can give this new detector a try, don't you just love it when a plan falls apart, and yep I had to vent LOL

Sounds like you are getting some of our Pacific Northwest weather, muddy digging here today for a bunch of junk----still fun though.

I would not bet on that one, next it will turn off to be 115 degrees and the coils will melt as well as me, this rain is interfering with my nugget detecting, within a couple months it will be to dang hot to detect.

I lived between Bullhead city and Needles as a kid, I dont miss that heat one little bit. I could tell you of some misery in that country.

If I had a new detector waiting to be used. Rain wouldn’t stop me. In the past I had got a new coil. The weather wasn’t cooperating. A big cold front was moving in. It was 20deg and the wind was blowing 30 and it was cold. The ground wasn’t frozen deep yet. So I put a lot of cold gear on and went out. 20 mins later I couldn’t feel my hands and back in the house I went. But I scratched that itch before it froze solid.

So what did you pick up? The latest and greatest Minelab GPZ 7000 All Terrain Gold Metal Detector with GPZ 19" Search Coil for 10K+? Just kidding, what did you get?

None of what you would think

I picked up a GOLDEN Mask 7, Beep and dig for coin and park hunting, been using a Golden Mask 4 WD and a Deep Tech Vista X for coin and park hunting so decided to pick up another Analog Detector

The Golden Mask 7 is 80% Analog and 20% Digital, been doing some air testing for the time being out on my front Patio, and just trying to get acquainted with the GM7, nice detector, but a pretty good learning curve, more so than the Legend, I do not like Air Test but with the rain that keeps coming down here where I live can not do anything but air test rite now

The GM7 is a selectable Single Frequency detector that runs 4, 14,24, and 44 KHz and has four detection modes Park, Field ,Beach and Gold Mode, with a bunch of settings in it

This guy? Looks bad Azz. Weather's going to break for you soon.

The one you show is the Golden mask 4 Pro runs 18 KHZ the Golden Mask Pro 4 WD is the one I have, the 4 WD is a selectable Single frequency detector that runs 8 and 18 KHz looks identical to the photo you posted, except the 4WD they replaced the Manual and Auto Ground balance toggle with a different toggle and you select 8 KHz or 18 KHz with the flip of that toggle

I ordered the Golden Mask 4WD and the Golden Mask 7 directly from Golden Mask in Bulgaria and I will have to say both of those detectors were delivered to me in record time7 days from the time the GM 4WD shipped to delivery to me, the Golden Mask 7 took only 5 Days from the time it shipped to delivery to me, Golden Mask is a great company, and I would not hesitate to order another detector from them, Deep Tech has a great dealer here in the U.S

I should have looked closer, so sorry. Got to admit, I appreciate your willingness to try so many different detectors....Are you ditching your Legend? Your insight and commentary regarding metal detecting and your methods has me watching your posts. Thanks for posting!

No not ditching the Legend just wanted to try some different detectors, I had three Legends, so I decided to trade one for a ORX, which I did and then I traded one for the Deep Tech Vista X, I liked the Deep Tech Vista X so much that I decided to see what these Analog Beep and Dig detectors were all about LOL so I picked up the GM 4 WD Pro and liked it so much I decided to try one of Golden Mask Detectors that had a screen, I will say I am loving these Analog detectors, I was getting really bored with these High Tech hand held computers on a stick detectors that detecting was becoming not so fun for me any more, the two Analogs have brought the fun side of detecting back for me personally, and I do realize the GM 7 looks like a hand held computer on a stick but from what I am seeing it really is not, the Screen is the only part of the GM7 that is digital and the TIDs the tones and the rest are all Analog and I guess that's where the 20% digital and 80 % Analog comes from, I have never hunted by TIDs and that's where the fun comes in for me personally is there are no jumpy TIDs to distract you with these analogs, and from what I am seeing since using these new Beep and Dig detectors is they are just as deep as the hand held computers all digital Detectors and in quite a few cases even deeper, and there are other aspects that just for me personally make the Beep and Dig Detectors more fun for me

Here is a video of the Vista X
