Voodoo Bottle?

I have to agree with those whom say, 'put it back', other peoples rites should be respected the same as you'd want your religious beliefs honored.

If it helps, think of it like you would if it were a roadside cross and flowers offering where someone has died and been remembered.

I would return it to the ground I found it not out of fear but respect.

I think there's a difference between respecting a person regardless of his religion and respecting a person because of their religion.

For instance, I can respect a man regardless of whether he's a hindu or a catholic, without feeling any obligation in the least to respect his belief in say reincarnation or exorcism.

If it helps, think of it like you would if it were a roadside cross and flowers offering where someone has died and been remembered.

With minor twisting, one COULD make a reasonably similar argument for that cache of gold coins we're all looking for!!

That's your call but don't protest too hard if someone else disrespects or treats aspects of what you believe in as trivial or silly.

Things change, and just as Easter is a christian adaptation of a pagan goddess of spring and her symbols of rabbit and egg into the celebration of events surrounding Jesus, the christian religion of today is changing due, in part, to African, Indian and Latino influences, into something new, Santeria for one example.

One has to wonder, if the christian religion five hundred - a thousand years from now, if it survives, would be recognizable to the christians of today.

Respecting other folks the way you want to be respected is just good living and no matter if you call it karma or something else, it makes for a less complicated world.

I'd keep it on my shelf as my most unusual find! That's really cool. It's a couple of dolls and a jar. There's nothing else to it except that it's weird.

Nice find!

yes if you ever find closed bottles especially with remaining liquids inside , just go ahead and rebury it , even if it has a few coins in there

then go wash your hands because the liquid could be anything from water to urine to even blood. and you never know if the operator was a dribbler :D

just be careful and do like the nice man said and just treat it respectfully and all will be fine.

What if these people that are "binded" actually cant stand each other. And could probably use a little time apart. Or what if one has a strong faith in god but the other is destined for hell, does that mean the one wont make it to heaven? Id fill that thing back up with more cherry kool-aid and put it with my collection as a conversation piece. Voodoo schmoodoo!

FYI - the original poster of this thread hasn't been on here since August.
Guess no one will ever know what became of this.

I would have quickly thrown it down and ran for my life. OR dumpered it all out in hopes of finding a coin. :D
