Update: Home with 12 acres in the country is happening! Thanks for the prayers!

I was born and raised on a farm. I hate living in the city.

Yep Silversmith45, I feel the same way. I may have lived in the city growing up, but my grandparents on both sides lived on farms. I spent a lot of time with them. One grandfather had a tractor in the barn but never used it.....he preferred his mule team for everything!

Yes sir, it's mostly hardwood. Has a few Hickory trees that need to come down, which will make a few rick to start with. Thanks!

Save some of that hickory for smoking! KT had two small hickory trees that were taken down, and He processed them for both firewood and the limbs were taken down to twig size with some lopping shears...enough wood to give away a trash can full and still have 2 5 gallon buckets for His Majesty's own smoker too!:laughing:

The ratio of Hickory to Oak (living) is about 50:50. I'll never run out....lol. Love that Hickory smoke! Have to crack the wood stove door open once in a while during winter, just to smell it! I think it makes for a good air sent....as for the wife, not so much...lol.

Ugh, less than 3 more weeks until closing....on pins and needles! We're trying to get all the junk and stuff we want to keep separated (30+ years worth!) and get our house ready to list. I told the Mrs. last night that I'm going to need to do some detecting, in order to relieve some stress. Just hanging out here in the evenings and reading about everyone else's finds is taking it's tool on me too! Thanks again for all the prayers, we still need a few until closing!

What a great score there Medic! Congratulations on finding it and buying it! Its fixing to get pretty nautical this year...
Yep...a guy needs a solid place like that to ride it out...

Congrats again, hope all goes well, been a while sine I've been to Arkansas, might have to come down after the dust settles for some detecting.

New is north, I'm currently south, 1 mile west on hwy 64, from exit 78

I really hope that you get it! My last home town in Arkansas was Conway, from 1970-1985. Hwy 64 and most all of Arkansas...I put motorcycle tracks across. I've lived in each corner of Arkansas plus the last years in Conway.

There was a thread on one of the detecting sites a while beck, about an old Spanish encampment, from the exploration of the US, way-way back then. It us on a cliff on the Arkansas River. I boated on the Arkansas a lot in time there. I also had a piece if riverfront property and a boat, out at Toad Suck Arkansas.

Early congrats! Great memories.

Nice place, don't know about maintenance if you have to do any though. Any known history on your new castle ? Maybe some old stuff somewhere out there. Or start a shine' operation !

Congratulations and good luck.

As a side note I notcie you use the pro pointer and the TRX, which do hou prefer?

Thanks again everyone. We're supposed to hear today, if the VA appraisal was sufficient to buy. In God's hands....we'll see!
