I thought a new cellar hole would produce some interesting finds, but that didn't happen. This place was in a thick woods and filthy with trash. I pushed myself to do two hours. I've hunted some iron infested areas before but nothing like this. Not a single good target. On to the next spot, next to a public park. This piece of ground had a house and a barn, but it was razed a few years ago. Across the street (25') is an 1880's house that has been empty for about 10 years. The empty lot was worse than the woods hunt, Starting to get a little frustrated with my choices, I decided to roll across the street. Five minutes in I hit a 1941 wheatie, Small smile on my face. 10 minutes more and I pulled a 1883 IH, Slightly bigger smile. After digging a bunch of 1950's roofing nails I got an ugly 22 on the 800. I figured another tin coated nail and I was correct. Checking the hole as I always do produced the same 22. Pinpointer in and out pops a 1910 Barber dime. Big smile this time. Four hours of painful hunting and digging a !!!! ton of junk finally paid off. Just goes to show how staying focused can save the day.
