We did the tot lot shuffle today. Great weather for my COPD so I was able to hunt most of the day. Still trying to figure out the V-Nickle date but it looks to me like 1892 which would be the new oldest coin for the year so far. We have found older coins at this school playground before.

Gotta love a 19th century V nickel. Looks like there's enough left of the date to read under magnification, have you put it under a loupe?

I'm thinking 1998 now. What do you think.?

Awesome haul. A hunt with that kind of variety is always a great day! I love the zipper pull collection. A Tot Lot staple!

Some good totlot finds. Hmmm, how did a V nickel get in a tot lot? Was it deep? Well a V-nickel is a great find.

No totlot hunt would be complete without some hotwheels. My wife finally told me to quit bringing them home but leave them on the surface for other kids.

Yes, it was deep. This school is old and we've found a fair number of 1800s coins deeper down in the ground. This was found walking the playground which is entirely sand. I wish it was closer, but it is an hour's drive to get to this city of similar to dodge tot lots. By similar, It has a packing plant and lots of immigrants as well, so the tot lots/schools have given up a lot of the shiny yellow stuff.
