And that's filling in other peoples HOLES!

I posted this over at (Finds and other forums) also so maybe the CULPRIT will see it!

Who ever was at Bonsteel Beach today, (Brevard County) Fl,
why don't you start filling in your holes dude!
Don't cry when they close the damn beach from metal detecting
because people start complaining about us!

It's people like you (and you know you are) that ruin it for everyone!
Cmon dude, it only takes a sec to push the sand back in with your foot!

AND the reason I had to fill em' in is because I don't want people looking at me
like I did it!

Yeah, the other morning I was hunting and 2 other hunters were down the beach. Once the sun came up they both took off and I noticed like 30 big unfilled holes. I was the one who got the hear from the joggers that I need to fill my holes...

Gotta find out who it is now... to tell him to stop leaving ankle twisters all over the beach...

Appears to be common... I have the same problem with some guy swinging a Excal on Newport beach most days.
Like mentioned, they take off leaving you standing on a beach full of holes.

i hear ya! i was at a local beach last fall and it looked like bomb craters all over the place! i'm serious.... holes well over a foot and a half deep!
the first one i saw i thought was from a dog digging, but then i spotted more. LOTS more and i know a dog wouldn't have done that kind of damage.
i think if people are going to be in this hobby, they should at the very least, show a little bit of respect and common courtesy!

This comes up from time to time. Guys who leave open holes and trash are mostly tourists or slobs. They really do not bother me as much as the people who leave trash all over the sand. Some beaches you can see spots where several people sat with cups, plastic bottles and even diapers left behind. It is really sad because all this is a lack of respect towards others. Leaving plastic bags with poop just makes you one of them. What if a kid digs it up and eats it?:snapoutofit:

Agree with all above...... The dog droppings was just a fantasy:D

We are in the kids season now. Locals are just slobs they bury everything to include baby diapers. I dont get bent out of shape about those holes as long as they arent near the water.... where like you said joggers or walkers can step in them. In the dry sand i figure if a family can bring a shovel and dig a HUGE hole and walk away no one is even going to notice after an hour that he left a hole once it drys. I agree its dangerous nearer the water.... and stupid.

As I have said before, with every MD purchase a rules of the road card needs to be included for these dimwits. Knight - perhaps stake out the area someday and educate the individual. Anyone digging 10-12" with a detector for the most part has no clue - prob a can in the sand. Unless you have the 1500 dollar model detector that can go down that far. When I use my F5 I don't even bother, once I hit 8" or so then its it.

I agree, just fill in the darn holes, beach hunting is the easiest, I consider it a vacation when I hit the beach and wood chips.

Better yet, picture of the person on this forum from far away - keep us updated

Its a common occurrence these days... I see guys on the beach with no finds pouches so they leave the trash next to the holes as well as not filling them in... last year at PI JOE's home beach I got into a shouting match with one of these slobs who wasn't filling his holes or picking up the trash.. these types are a waste of skin

I'd never get any hunting done around here. To many. Lol hh an gl -joe

Holes

My wife and I were detecting beach and we saw some guy not fixing his holes we ended up crossing paths and I told him he needed to fill his holes when done. He just kinda looked up and kept walking. He did fill his next one but who knows if he kept doing it. Slobs is what they are.

I get away with not fixing a few holes but there in the surf and get filled quick while im still in the general area.

The people who visit the beaches I hunt are total slobs they I have seen pigs be neater but after all they are all pretty much Jersey Shore Cast wanna bes who come to the beach here

A reasonable and polite comment for Florida beaches is....

Ask them if they know about that it is currently turtle nesting season (until October)
and as hatchlings making their run from the nest to the water, they can fall into and become trapped in holes.
So please fill in the holes to protect the babies or at least keep the environmental agencies off your back.
