I went out this morning and did a little bit of hunting in a few of my favorite tot lots. It was 28 degrees when I left the house this morning so all the tot lot mulch was frozen together:D. However I ended up with almost five bucks in change and my first ring of the year. Its a womans class ring from 2014.

I came home and did a little research on the school and the name that was inscribed on the inside of the ring and found the owner (actually the owners mother). She said she lost it last winter in a snowball fight. Since I live about an hour away from her I told her I'd drop it in a padded envelope and mail it back home.

So on the first day of the year I managed to find my first ring of the year and coordinate my first return of the year.

I hope you all have a great New Year and Great hunting!!

Thanks for the positive comments.

I went by the post office this morning, so it is on its way back to its owner!!:cheer:

This ring return went a lot better than the last one. When I called the owner I got her mom on the phone and when I told her who I was and that I am a metal detectorist she knew exactly where the conversation was going. She was so happy to have it returned. They even knew when and where it was lost, but couldn't find it. I am so happy to be able to help them out.

Class Rings hold a soft spot in my heart because I lost mine somewhere over the years. I know how much that ring meant to me, so I am happy to be fortunate enough to find and return some ones elses if I find it and can locate the owner.

Great start to the year and great act to start the year. WTG on the find and the return. I lucked out and found an Army ring yesterday, but no initials were on the inside :-(

Happy hunting throughout 2015!!
