Finding chains can be a problem. The way I understand it is a detector tends to see a single link. That is fine for most bigger chains, but with all the pendents I found, I knew there had to be a lot of small thin chains not being found. A lot of testing showed me that most will read in the iron zone, but just slightly differently. For example. On my Deus, a 04 is going to be a bobby pin, paper clip 90% of the time. If one or two swings get me anything else, like a 05, then it will be something else. That is where I find a lot of chains. And not just cheap iron ones, but small gold ones as well. I've amassed a fair collection over the years and have been sorting out stuff I had in zip bags for years. Here is what I've sorted out. I've sold most all the gold and many silver ones over the years to pay for new detectors so most of this is costume. I have a few bags to go. One of the bags to the right is all crosses, many with chains, and the other is full of more fine chains I have yet to sort. The problem now is how do I store these to keep them from twisting together.
