ok i work with a guy who owns some property a little outside of tallahassee. it is now a pecan grove and was once a farm in the 1940's.. the history of this land is just crazy and i hope to find something awesome as i don't think anyone has ever detected this land before!:D back in the 1600's this land was being used as camp grounds for the spaniards and hunting ground as well when they were trying to take over the indian population... in the 1800's the land was owned by prince murat who was the brother of napoleon and he was also a former mayor of tallahassee who owned lots of land around florida. in the 1940's a farmer established the land and planted pecan trees. the owner told me that when they bought the and they were cleaning out the barn and found 3000 dollars hidden inside the barn by the former owner. i remember reading that back in the day when lots of people didn't trust banks they would bury their savings in mason jars by trees. i will definitely be checking the trees around there lol i plan on stopping by there and hunting for a little while next week. wish me luck i will post my finds.. i'm hoping for some spanish gold and artifacts maybe some indian arrowheads and definitely silver coins!!! so excited:mder::digginahole::stars::bling:

unfortunately i have to split my finds 50/50 with the owner.. but i wouldn't have this opportunity if he didn't own the place so hoping my finds are big enough to not feel so bad about splitting with him:laughing:

Oh that sucks you have to split! Btw Murat was the nephew of Napoleon and his wife was the great niece of George Washington. Keep me updated on anything you find! I remember reading something like that (the $3,000) was the money in silver dollars? Cause I didn't realize this was in Tally! Let me know if you find anything intresting or have questions about any artifacts! I live in Wakulla and dig up a bunch of second Seminole war artifacts on my property and possibly know the location of an old Seminole war fort!

Yeah I don't know if the 3000 was in silver dollars.I didn't ask too many questions.I was just excited to know the history and get to hunt this place:-) thanks for the info on murat lol I knew I probably got something wrong but I'll definitely post pictures of my finds from there

It's an easy rule to get behind when amazing finds are everywhere like in Britain. Little harder when you are talking about a few silver coins. I would make sure the owner understands that finds are usually slim, maybe even point him to the forum here so he gets the picture. People get weird and suspicious.

Haha yeah no proplemo, I still need to see their graves here in Tally.
