Cellrdwellr still had beach silver among other things on his bucket list, so he decided to come down to the CT coast and meet me for a hunt during the morning low tide. Only thing...the low was at 3:40 am today:lol: So while waiting on him, I decided to get out in waist deep water with the Sword for a bit and stumble around in the dark tripping over the rocks:laughing: in a bare spot I came across...which gave up several deep cookie coins and a junk ring that took forever to scoop up:roll: The sun finally came up and after a while we moved on to another section of beach and hunted the slope above the incoming water, where Jeff found what he was looking for:cool: I had to leave soon after but he kept hunting...don't know yet what else he got. Here's my stuff ...51 cents clad, scrap, a cool toy trolley I eyeballed, plastic and brittle with age... ...UMC 10ga headstamp, 3 wheats, a 1905 Indian and a 1910 Barber Dime that was another eyeball find just sitting there on the sand as I was looking for a clean spot to dump a scooped target:shock: I called Jeff over to see it before I picked it up, and yes...I ran the coil over it as required:lol:...that's silver #2...but what is that cookie coin?...crack it open!...opened............silver #3 is a 1903 Barber Quarter It was a fun hunt and the weather was decent for early January, not too cold or windy...thanks for coming down Jeff! That's all for this outing so thanks for the looks, see you after the next and Happy Hunting!

You just love to roast my chestnuts Craig:lol: I'm digging all sorts of tones I wouldn't chase in the dirt but just haven't come across any gold. I'm probably hunting too far up on the slope...surprised you didn't suggest I go get a Equinox:laughing:

It was a great time Bruce, I ended up leaving shortly after you. Toughest part for me was the 2 hour ride home with only a few hours sleep  Ended with 2 mercs and 2 wheats and not a single clad coin. First spot was tough on me, didn't find a single coin or anything good for that matter, seemed alot of sand had moved back into that area. Then we hit the second spot. First target was the early teens merc. Shortly after Bruce called me over to show me a coin peeking out of the sand. Yup it was a surface barber dime  spent about another hour-hour and a half out there and added the rest. Still have saltwater gold on the old bucket list, so I'm sure ill be down again soon Bruce! Ill add a pic of my finds here, not sure it warrants its own post. You had a stellar day, really appreciate you taking the time to hunt with me, not many would be willing to get up that early  ill have to get more gear for hunting IN the water. Good luck in the coming week's, hoping a nice big storms rolls through!
