Sheriff took our side!

that's right BUT you didn't!..you tried to do the noble, and honorable thing.
that's cool, however,YOU, by NOT defending your "honor" got "beat!"..the a**wipe bus driver won,and maybe you lost good detecting ground!

Oh my word. Chris, you did just fine. If a situation like this turns into "defending your honor", then somethings really wrong. You're a young guy and if you get crazy about stuff like this, you'll end up like Jmaryt. Keep up the good hunts and don't let the radicals get to you.

I'd love to get up your way and hunt. We have friends in Helena, so I've hunted there several times. Stay cool.

hah Thanks! I was never worried about my "Honor" I served in the United States Army and feel I can gauge most situations and handle them appropriately. My honor is not nor will it ever be in question.

On another note, DEFINITELY get ahold of me if your'e ever in the great falls area!! I have a whole list of awesome historic properties I recently got permissions on!! I'd happily show ya around!

My oldest brother drives a school bus. He's retired, drives the special ed kids. Loves 'em all. I'd be careful about casting too wide of a net.

I'm just sayin'.

Good story. And this is exactly why I do most of my hunting at night. So peaceful. So serene :)

You should be careful though. Most of our parks (North Carolina) have signs that only allow entry from sunrise to sunset. I don't know how strict they are about it. Sometimes I find paper bags with empty glue tubes in them. I believe they got there at night. I'm not sure it is safe at night any more. Our town is not the same place I grew up in.:(

sounds like a solid, upstanding individual! But people like the bus driver in this case...... not so much. You can tell they have a chip on their shoulder...a complex if you will....

i was referring to THIS PARTICULAR bus driver, but i think you know that! it's rather easy to "misinterpret one's meaning" on mindless media.this was a very "narrow" net that was cast,so i'll have no further comment...i'm just sayin'

..... Most of our parks (North Carolina) have signs that only allow entry from sunrise to sunset...

I know I'm going to get some flack for this but ........ IMHO signs like that are obligatory, *just* so that no one thinks they're going to camp-out there, or creating a nuisance, etc....

I live right across the street from a park that has the "closed at sunset" type signage. Yet the ONLY time that has ever been enforced, is when some kids were in their with a boom box, having a late night keg-party (a neighbor called it in) . Other than that, it's not unusual to see someone on a late night stroll, or someone walking their dog, or someone taking a short-cut through the park, etc.... Ie.: No one cares, nor is it enforced. Unless someone is being a nuisance.

It's on a case-by-case basis (perhaps some certain place "really means it"). But otherwise, those are just obligatory. So as to put teeth into a "scram", if one were ever needed (to evict a squatter, etc...)
