Semi-Retirement Jobs

I'd like to work full time Mon-Thurs 8:30am-5pm but have Fri-Sun off. No weekends or holidays.
As I continue my research I'm interested in Lowes.
I'd like to be independently wealthy & good looking.

Seriously, the big box stores, food stores etc, are 7 days/week and usually open 14ish hrs/day. The chances of them accommodating that schedule is just about none. The only thing in your favor is your age. People our age have a work ethic that appears to be lacking in other generations. The manager that hired me when I relocated to SC flat out told me he likes to hire the transplants from up north as we, "show up, do the job and don't complain".

You should be all set. They are always looking for help.when I go there you always see a lot of employees walking around and very few customers. Not sure what's up with that.

They need drivers around here, I may semi retire in 2 1/2 years and deliver auto parts. That job seems to have a high turn over though?

I worked as a Walmart door greeter for a while as a part-time job to supplement my retirement income. Not because of the job, but dealing with the many A-Holes that walk the public streets. My job was to ask to see a receipt IF the customer had items that were not bagged. Most stolen items would not get put in a bag. The customer would jump all over my butt and refuse to show a receipt. If they went through the self-checkout, somehow that gave them the impression they didn't need to show anything.

Sure, they love to stand there acting all big while cursing out a lowly employee who was only doing their job. They didn't have the balls to go to the people who made the rule, that would be management, and give them a piece of their mind. What little they had.

Don't the self check out have the option of no printed receipt? They should do away with the self check out and bring back all the lost cashier jobs. And then if they want to check your receipt after you went through a cashier get some one in loss prevention who is sitting on there --- looking at a camera to check the receipt. Hopefully they are in some type of security uniform and look official. I personally won't use self check out .If there is no cashier to ring it up I just leave.

Like anything, I guess it depends on your personal preference. I prefer to check myself out than stand in a line for 15 minutes, get my items bagged bananas with the bread, and some airhead that can't count change, and that should be back stocking shelves. I like to know my eggs are safe and my bread isn't going to get smashed. I like my meat in with my meat. Cold items with cold items. The biggest problem I run into is shelves not being kept stocked. They have 2-3 people out trying to keep up with 300 shoppers.

I think the self-checkout gives you the option to send the receipt to your phone, print it locally, or both.

I'm just saying take that bad boy impersonation to management, and not some employee just doing what they're paid to do.
