I am looking at a scoop for beach detecting. This will only be used a couple of times per year. I have been looking at the RTG Pro aluminum 6" travel scoop. My question is will this hold up to being used a couple times a year in wet sand? I really don't want to spend a ton on a scoop for occasional use, but I don't want to throw a hundred plus dollars away on a junk scoop either.

Yes, just bought that after having a diamon head that weight 6lb.. The Pro 6 will be fine.. still not as light as I would like but way better than the Diamond head with fiberglass handle..

Thank you for the input so far. Does anyone else have any opinions on this?

6" Alum TRG is a good scoop. What detector are you using and what beach?

This is the scoop we make, I sent you a PM to check our site out so you could see what we make. The scoop cones off the handle and that handle can be used with other equipment we make shovels etc. My scoops have been used all over the states and in England, France etc and survived well along with being easy to disassemble and pack up for like they were used for an England trip. This picture is of my personal scoop and used it for 4 years now.

I think you are best to go with something simple and easy to use but will do the job if you are only using it a few time a year you can't go wrong with one of these small hand held ones my buddy had one and it was like 12.00 it held up great and if you break it so what 12 bucks here a link to it.
