I ordered a stainless steel scoop, an extra for one or two people that would like to learn and go with me. It takes a 35 mm/1.37 in handle. This is larger that the one I have from CKG. I found 35mm carbon fiber on ebay but it is only about 39 inches long. One young man who wants to learn is 6'8", so I need to find a supplier for 35 mm and longer than 39 inches. 5 ft would be helpful. I have an old wood handle that will fit if needed. Has anyone tried PVC? I was at Leows this morning and saw some that fit but I was concerned it might flex too much and break. I don't have a reference point for that judgement though, so I decided to ask before I reinvent the wheel. All thoughts appreciated.

PVC will absolutely not hold the stress that is going to be put on it. Some guys on here have used fiberglass handles from shovels that seem to work really well. If I remember correctly David (Ra1der5) is one of those that has a fiberglass handle that he really likes. If you search on here "fiberglass handles" you should be able to find your answer. Good luck!

I seen one of the Hoover Boys uses PVC, I am totally surprised it has lasted.
Maybe he put a wood insert inside?

No way I would take a chance.

Guys here know how hardcore I am on scoops , look up some of my posts if you want. Here's what you want. Home Depot Quickie fiberglass broom. $20 , you can't beat it. A bit of flex , has a textured grip , about 5' that you can easily cut down. May have to trim the end with a knife to fit some. You will break the scoop before you break this thing. GL....
