I just drove through Schoolcraft, MI (south of Kalamazoo) on Monday and one side of their main street is torn out for blocks and blocks, including the downtown which had some pretty old looking buildings. If you are close it might be worth checking out in the evening or on weekend. There were some rain puddles so it would be messy right now. Don't know if the other side will be torn out too or not.

How far is that from Lincoln City, Oregon? I'm headed home from our vaction tomorrow, but maybe we'll just keep going.

I used to live in Three Rivers and drove through there a million times. Old community and I would guess it has a lot of old silver in that tear out. Alas it is too far for me to drive to as well.

Unfortunately in my area road and sidewalk tear outs reveal a lot of rocks and old rebar.

Is the highway thru there still a speed trap?
Not with the construction! But this was my only time there.
