Round Whatzit?

Out MDing at a former house site found this round ferrous disc with a small screw in the middle that says "A Woodcrest Creation" and "Japan". Probably from late 50s or 1960s. Exactly the size of a half dollar though I was too lazy to get one for the picture, lol. Just wondering what it is?
