I'm going to tell ya how i got started on the lost sites-
the pic attached is 2 seasons of hunt - i actually want to retake the photo as i have more to add
to be clear too i prob already posted this photo - i wanted to include in this write up
3 yrs or so back - i too was watching YouTube watching people like aquachigger - some of the old history guys
& of course many of the guys on here OBN [of course many others here too ]
digging up all this older treasure i too have been hunting since the 90's & miss the old days
we all love to hunt whether it be modern or just old things - or both -

- so what am i doing before research days
same old - drive to 5 beaches - get a few junk rings [if that] & head back exhausted from driv frustrated at nothing good
sometimes u get one decent ring for a 5hr round trip
after doing that a couple days a week [ for years] - i thought there has to be stuff out there - think of all the old spots people congregated on the lake
does it have to be a big beach - no it could have been something as simple as an old dock people hung around & of course on hot summer days swam. so i started asking around [ you know the typical yeah in 1970's & 80's this place was the spot. well some of these spots - there just wasn't anything there - so once again back to square one. ok if that's not a good spot where else can i go - so after a few strikeouts - i started doing more in-depth research - finding some lakes were a waste of time & others were not. first spot i hit that changed everything
i posted on here - i remember that first day. went there think ok this must be the spot - took nox out due to lack of signals-
dug everything - within a few hrs had 2 gold which surprised the heck out of me - but i noticed not many targets- so i kept moving around diff areas- well it turns out u could tell it was hunted [as many are] - but then i hit a spot much further away - suddenly silver showing up
so ok they swam way down here - slow down - maybe a 2nd beach right down from the other. sure enough there was
so i worked this site for a month straight few times a week - fast forward to now - 3 seasons later i have pulled over 380+ silver coins out of there & quite a few gold but yet i was told it was hunted out!! - don't even bother going there!! someday i will do basically a final wrap up pic
to show u what others "thought was wiped out" since then i have researched now a half dozen good spots have have really had some serious treasure in them. proving they are NOT all gone - are they easy no. sometimes it's a trek of 2hrs maybe further[one way] just to see
but i'll tell u- i would rather drive & maybe find a forgotten spot then to almost always go home empty handed
plus i consider it an adventure - also proving it can be done - sometimes i go thinking damn i have got this spot nailed down only to find no access or impossible hunting conditions- or i can't find it - yeah it's frustrating but u move to that backup site & keep looking - i went to this creek [also research] found several silv coins - old tokens - couple pieces of jewelry- no gold hunted it hard too [ mainly just kids ] cooling off
made several trips there - no gold . time to move on -
i wasn't really going to post much of this stuff anymore
but u know what - not everyone gets to see this - it stays locked away in a safe - yeah u show a few friends/family - other than that u lock it up
why not show if off [not for bragging] but to be proud of it - maybe it will click for someone else - some of these things i have found i never even realized what is lost till u actually dig it up - my family is stunned at what i find [from these forgotten sites] i am stunned!!- i never even imagined there could be sites out there like this [still] lost until "you" or I find them. i can tell u for a fact i have another dozen or so promising sites that are on my radar - some lakes have several - i have certainly now found lakes with multiple lost areas [that produce]
think of this - many lakes had small campgrounds - some had cabins[1950's] - some were bulldozed for those huge houses that are now everywhere
some require permission - some do not - some u won't get into - time to move on - i found one beach only 50 yds from the beach that gets hammered daily- 6 gold rings- several silv rings & coins [just another small beach] - maybe this helps a few of you guys that want to give up
obv not everyone will have the type of access to sites - everyone has diff hunt conditions - diff locations [ states] etc..
- but for me if i have to drive - i'll do it
the closest decent beach to me anyway is an hr or more away just to modern hunt - so i'll go further to find the old spots
remember its a hobby - have fun - - i do it for adventure - & now i do it for all the treasure i know is still there!!
good luck -

if u hit a spot that pays off
show it - let others see what was there - maybe it's just a few really old coins - maybe its a pile of gold/silver - this site is for that - i know a lot of people quit posting for various reasons
the pics hopefully inspire people to maybe try a diff hunt - my sites i have found i will
be posting some pics of wrap-ups some of these sites. i can't even believe what has come out of these areas - i could care less about bragging about it
i'll show it so everyone can see it
maybe a few of the guys on here can gather some of the old finds - if u don't want to post the
old gold - post some of the artifacts u have found that stuff is sometimes just as interesting
or the old coins - my oldest coin US 1865 indian [ i have found coins that are foreign 1700's but not here in the states - there are guys on here that have found much older coins than that especially on east coast
that pic OBN u post with the necklace tags - block out beach on tag- maybe a pic - it would be cool just to see those type necklaces. old beaches have a lot of history - it's not just gold/silver
just my thoughts

To inspire others here is a map of the old beaches in my county. Took me four years of research time (2010 to 2014) to turn this to a 107 page file.. page 2 .. If your near water more than likely someone lost something in it.
Some places will be , others you never know..

I've got thousands of pictures, don't want to bore everyone with them so I'll leave the inspiration to the picture above.

PM me if you want to share that creek that you're done with! haha
Several years ago, my now friend, Mike was posting (Here on friendly) about a Old beach and I asked the same question. "Let me know once you guys have the spot cleaned out". Their were 3 experienced hunters using, 2 CTX's and 1 AT Pro. Very kind of Mike I was invited a month later and the old excalibur went in and pulled a gold ring the first hunt with several silvers. By my second trip there Mike got a excalibur and we both went on to get over 75 more gold out of that spot. And to this day we will occasionally get a gold, all now with the Orphan PI, the Fisher AQ.

Nice story. Just goes to show it's not all about experience. It's about the machine.

Based on his treasure map , he gave us all we need to know.....
Put blindfold on , throw dart on map , go hunt , scoop up gold. Easy peasy.

The coast line of the bay is Peppered with places that people swam and this is just AA county. I'm not going to say it's easy peasy for it does require dedication and persistence.

Someday when I feel I can't hunt it anymore I will cut loose all of my information

I'm going to dump them here on Friendly someday.

And the general reference map is above.

I do have a good bit of information on several outside of AA Co. Here is one I searched for and found, in Baltimore County, 2 Blocks West of Hanover Street Bridge in Baltimore. I would almost bet its a virgin site., it was a amusement park / swimmers beach till the 1960s... Not a very safe area is the reason I will not hunt there.. :gunbandanna:

Ad below Is from 1938

An amusement park for colored people ! That place looks amazing. Can't you go with a buddy or is it something else ? You gotta hunt that before you retire.

Very nice of you to give away all your secrets some day. There was an older guy named Don out in So.Cal back in the early 90s. I can't remember his last name. He made a small book about 30 pages long , b & w pictures , in a cheap spiral binder , about $20. It was a great little book with his hunting tips/tricks , locations , finds , etc. One day he showed up at a spot I was on and we chatted a few. He was very nice. I wish I kept that book but I gave it to a guy who bought a PI from me in the mid 90s. I still look for that book when I'm out and about as it is probably a collectors item now. He has more than likely passed. But his books remain....somewhere. Just an idea OBN as you can continue your legacy and immortality...
