I haven't had any trouble returning my tumbled clad at the bank yet. I read that some guys had banks refuse their change. Can banks refuse legal tender? Rob

I turned in $203.00 today. I rolled it first. What they don't see don't scare them. Cladius.

Yes, I just turned in $85.00 not rolled. I just what to know if they can legally refuse legal tender(coin of the land)? Rob

So long as its identifiable, I don't beleive it can be legally refused.

Many moons ago I saw a MD'er (looked to be in his mid 70's) ask a teller if he could bring in money he found MD'ing and she replied "no problem". Of course the bank has been bought out twice since then

My bank has a coin counter (free for customers) so I just run it through there at the end of the year. It will take some pretty good Zlincolns, but more than 1/8th of the penny gone it probably won't go through. I'm saving the rejects up for a mass melt down or something :?:

Walmart, Target, KMart, Stop & Shop, etc all have self service check-out machines. Just throw your money in there.

I jut rinse my coins and bring them there. I actually overpay with my coins, then I get shiny new ones back in change.

I just rinse my clad finds and throw them together with my everyday pocket change, and roll them up together every few weeks. I've never had a problem depositing the rolls and my bank.

Like XRay said..........A bank can not legally refuse any money as long as it is identifiable. Even if it is no longer circulable, they have to exchange it for you.

I wash and/or tumble my clad (if very dirty) and then roll it. I've never had a problem with a bank accepting the rolls. I've rolled my finds for months and have never had a problem.

I just roll mine. As it was said earlier, what they can"t see won"t hurt them. The bank also gives me the coin wrappers to wrap the coins in. When ever I start to run low I just ask the teller at the bank for more wrappers.
HH, Wes.
