I picked up a somewhat cheap Fiskars weeding tool from the local garden center, no surprise I snapped the handle off after only a week or so of digging. So since I liked the blade and I am an experienced fabricator I decided to fix the problem by using a solid piece of steel grounding rod to make a T-handle and welded it on. Then after a good cleaning I shot it with my trademark gold digger paint so it's easy to see.

Now on to the testing phase.

I just gave it a quick test on a burried can in my yard, its a superb plug and root cutter now. And thanks for the good luck wishes on the gold.

First Gold!

Wow, thanks again, it worked, I hit a neighbors yard looking for a lost women's wedding ring and found a men's 10k ring. That being my first real gold find.

I've used that same digger for 6 months and no problem. It's got a "lifetime warranty" supposedly. Of course, I'm not cuttin' plugs with mine...

When I first started I didn't have a digger so I used a plastic trowel. It snapped very quickly. Learned my lesson and bought a metal one. Not as fancy as a Lesche but it works. BTW, cool mod Ark!

Hey that looks like a winner.
Nice job!

It's treating me well, my lawyer was late getting to his office so I whipped out my F2 on the grass in front of his office and found this 925. It was all down hill from there.
