Predator Raven Model 25...snapped(Latest Update...It's back!!! 22 days later!)

Go back to the beginning and read the post completely. If you would do that you would know that it isn't about the tool. But then you seem to want to keep saying over and over about how great the tools are. I don't think many will disagree with that...it isn't and never was about the quality of the tool....read the post and understand the subject before you start beating on your drum and using your little analogies which aren't relevant.

LittleJohn

Go back to your post to others how you have given directions steering individuals inquiring about digging tools, to utilize any tools but predator brand tools! Is this only to serve your own anger and not that of what the actual tool is in its ability working in the field! This IMO is a great disservice to a new MD'er searching for information on tools that actually work. Instead of promoting our hobby your attacking the higher quality products in the industry and promoting cheap tools that break constantly on a regular bases. I understand what you went through , but beating the drum over and over and then promoting any cheap junk tool over what is a quality tool is not healthy to the hobby!

If you viewed LittleJohn's original posting you'll see it's was a clean break the company should have replaced the shovel instead of repairing which aided in the long return delay.

Again you are entitled to your interpretation and opinion . I will state it again this is about reasonable customer service; which if we believe the original poster and I do; was not delivered in this case. So for me knowing this is valuable information and therefore good content for a post.

Last time I checked it was still a free country and I am well within my right to offer my opinion, especially if it will allow someone to make a choice of their own based on facts presented to them.

Is this only to serve your own anger and not that of what the actual tool is in its ability working in the field!

It has nothing to do with anger, it has to do with disappointment in their service and how they treat their customers when their tools fail.

This IMO is a great disservice to a new MD'er searching for information on tools that actually work.

A great disservice to a new md'er?? On the contrary I believe it is very important for them to be informed with the facts and be allowed to make an educated decision based on what is really going on.

Instead of promoting our hobby your attacking the higher quality products in the industry and promoting cheap tools that break constantly on a regular bases.

I don't understand what me promoting the metal detecting hobby has to do with poor customer service from a shovel company. I'll make my own shovel before they see another penny of my money...if that offends you ...too bad.

I understand what you went through , but beating the drum over and over and then promoting any cheap junk tool over what is a quality tool is not healthy to the hobby!

No you absolutely do not understand what I went through. If you did understand, and had the capacity to comprehend it....then you wouldn't be complaining about whatever it is you continue to ramble on about.

I really don't believe that my valid concern with a company's poor customer service has anything to do with the "health of the hobby"

When will you understand?

Proof is in the pudding !!

I think the best digger out there is one that will hold up under heavy use. There are a ton of em out there, and depending on your soil you hunt, you may not need a $50 hand trowel.

I know a company that has a great following, and I was once one of them but they will never see another penny of my money....so even the ones who claim to be the best aren't necessarily so. Customer service is #1...the customer deserves a quality product when they pay a premium price...some companies forget that and it will bite them in the butt...

The only pile being created is the one you are making, like a pile of roadapples.

You keep whining about failed products ....one more time Einstein...it isn't about their product. Why can't you get that through your head ?

Remember these two words....CUSTOMER SERVICE....what makes this so hilarious is that you went trolling to find another of my posts and what does it say? CUSTOMER SERVICE...what part of that don't you get?

Enough of this sillyness.

I am getting a Predator so if I ever break it we will see what issues I have,
I can tell you I have broken diggers from their sister company, Lesche, (if you see how I use these and what kind of huge rocks and big iron I pry up sometimes you will see why), but I just send them in, no warranty card and no questions asked, and within a week I get a free replacement and others have had exactly the same experience.

Not sure why Predator is so different since they are essentially the same company, but I don't believe they are in the same building and each business is not run by the same people so that might come into play.

The Lesche side has been around longer, probably has long time employees that are efficient and competent and good at their jobs, maybe the Predator side not so much but who knows.

Still, nothing else I have ever used or have seen would probably stand up to the abuse I dish out, I have held that Garret thing in my hand and I know that wouldn't, so I will stay with these companies till something better comes along. Went trolling again and look what I caught on another thread about digging tools.....another post by longjohn silver, about how pedator tools "charge ridiculous prices" then you go on your rant about cutomer service cry. The point is you are so consumed that "poor me" didn't get a free one or what ever, your poisoning the cause to promote the hobby!! You have how many posts now about this issue of how you have been violated.... Its now become Laughable !!!!!

Most of the posts you quoted were responses to my post. They are not posts made by me...you are misrepresenting me and I am calling you out. My statements are fact. Not sure why you decided to lie, but in your desperate attempt to appear like you know what you are talking about...that's what's laughable...the joke is entirely on you.

I have plenty of money, I never asked fr anything free. You are a big man behind that keyboard...I'm just LittleJohn...stating facts about something that happened just the way I said it did. I can back it up ...I have receipts ...I have facts ...you have nothing, but a chip on your shoulder.

Never argue with an idiot...they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience....not sure who penned that line but it rings so true with you Roadapple.

...you don't get it and you never will. We can all see that now...as hard as you have tried the only thing you have done is shown that you are driven by emotion and not fact. This post was not meant to start any personal attacks...and I won't entertain your ignorance any longer..I have no energy for your fruitless emotional garbage.

How the truth does hurt !

LittleJohn You sir, must have finally looked into the mirror!!! Yes I must agree with you that way to much energy has been exhausted on this rant. Therefore, have a good life.

all I know is my pirhana shovel and my raptor model 31 are bad ass and I'll always buy their products

I was just about to order The Raven until I read this thread. I won't support a company like that. I would have told his hatchet faced hag off if she was that rude to me.

I wanted only to express my dissatisfaction ...she went off on me and so did George. Funny thing is most of Roadapples posts are promoting Lesche and predator tools...acts like his son ...or even him...no location...yeah I smell BS here...doesn't matter though...almost 3,000 people know the truth about their customer service...hopefully more will read it and not have to deal with the same kind of unprofessional service I did. No anger here...just complete disappointment in how a company who toots their horn...isn't really what they project themselves to be. And to many people that actually matters.

LittleJohn

Didn't George Lesche lose the original company in a divorce, to his former wife? One of the stipulations was that George could form his own company but wasn't allowed to sell from a retailer.

(what I garnered from a local retailer who knows George Lesche)

BTW, I don't really care for any product that isn't backed up by the company. In Littlejohn's case, the man should have gotten a free shovel, plain and simple. Reputation is EVERYTHING, to the knowledgeable, when it comes to buying any product.

Beat the drum !!!!

Why do continue this thread ? Look real close in the mirror please ! Look at what you acuse people for just going off on you, as if your delightful personality had nothing to do with promoting any negative response by this company. Look how you take any type of criticism to your post if someone does NOT agree with your analysis of this situation(me for one). I'm sure your glowing coments you problaby made to George and his wife had nothing to do with how you were treated overall !!!! No one reacts as you claim they did for no reason . Mello out a little- -John (in your case -alot) life is short and not worth the hate held within. Go do some MDing, as it is to most of us, relaxing.

I thought the same thing...

It appears you have a vested interested in the company Son and can't stand any negative postings against it, your strong arm tactics against LittleJohn isn't working and only solidifies me into never buying a $100.00 shovel from them :p

I do not think that you can say the man is not a Patriot based on his bad customer service.
Also I believe you are mistaken about the 2 companies, Lesche was started by George Lesche and he later sold the company and then started predator tools. You might want to do a little research on this.
Not trying to get into a p@ssing contest with you John and as a matter of fact I am glad that you started this post BEFORE I ordered my shovel as it is what convinced me to go with the Lesche rather than the Predator

Choppa, I don't believe that is how it went. From what I understand Lesche was a family run business and long story short, George's sister now owns Lesche(ww mfg). There is more to the story but I am not going to post it because I don't know exactly what is true and what isn't...

STP
Thanks for clearing this up. I made my statement based on a discussion with George but it was not verbatim and it seems you know more about it then myself. I do know that based on my conversation with George, that there is no love lost between the 2 company's.
I know I have been very happy with the Lesche tools I own and just bought a new Sampson shovel from them.
I still may try a Predator since there are a lot of people out there that swear by them.
This being said I have no reason to not believe what LittleJohn says is true but also know that anyone can have a bad day and sometimes things tend to snowball when emotions get involved.
Some of my closest internet friends started as people I just could not stand and was involved in some pretty viscous internet spats with them.

For a very over priced shovel, I agree with some others he should have just sent you a new one next day. I mean at that price, he could send you 2 free shovels, and still have profit.

The fact he couldn't be "bothered" to call you in 3 weeks speaks volumes. It is amazing how his shoulder injury apparently kept him from dialing a phone, but was miraculously able to do so when his poor wife had her feathers ruffeled. Shame he didn't give you his "well paying" customer /source of his bread and butter the same, or even close to the same consideration as he gave to her.

I've always liked the look of those ravens, but can't bring myself to pay so much for so little, so I use something much cheaper. And if I do want one that looks like that I'll do as another has, and make it myself.

Good post, and frankly I'd never send him that postage he whinned about, a fisher detector is always returned to customer without cost, and I would bash him every chance I got. Again as he should have just sent you a new replacement ASAP, not 3 weeks later. He doesn't deserve a customer.
