I recently found this specimen metal detecting my property in Hartsel Colorado 26.8 acres sits at 9,200 feet in elevation. My limited scientific analysis is the following:
1. It is round the size of your average waffle.
2. It weighs 4.2 pounds it seems heavy for its size.
3. It is 100% non magnetic tested with powerful magnets.
4. It had a weird light brown outer crust there was a shade of red mixed in. I lightly sanded it off with a dremel and exposed a rather silver surface under said crust.
5. It has from what it looks like 3 thumbprints on the surface.
6. The inside appears to be some type of solid metal.
7. The metal is very malleable it does not break easy.
8. It retains heat very well I grinded on this thing for 30 minutes to retrieve a sample it never became too hot to handle.
I thought it was a big piece of lead at first didn't really think much of it until a friend examined it closer i washed it and did some light sanding that's what I know. Does anyone care to share any knowledge or insight?
