I found this yesterday. It has CHICAGO, a shield with an eagle above the shield. Within the shield it has stars at the top and ABC in the lower part. On the back it has a place where a pin was (now long gone) and a makers mark of THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J. It is made of copper. Please look at the picture. Any help in id'ing would be a great help. ;)

Ok, I'm gonna take a wild guess on this. I looks like it might be a Chicago firefighters medal. The ABC would depict the three different types of fire one has to fight. Like I said, its just a guess.

It *may* be an old ABC-TV logo?

Saw this on a website:
Also in the early fifties was Foodini The Great, a puppet show about a bumbling magician and his assistant, Pinhead. His favorite expression was "Gadzooks". I liked the theme and found out years later that is was from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite". The program was on WJZ Channel 7 in New York. The network logo was an eagle over the letters "ABC".

Even though it mentions New York ABC was a nationwide TV channel.

Here's a link to an image (from 1959).

There's also a long shot it could be from the American Bowling Conference.

Since I have spent a "little bit" of time in bars, I'm going to guess you have a badge from the Alcoholic Beverage Control people. Illinois calls theirs the Liquor Control Commission now, but it may be a recent change. They are in charge if liquor licenses, inspections, fines etc. Something to check out.

Whatever it is it's neato!

wow ya that looks cool, id pay $20 for it no problem so I can tell ya its worth at least that.. im gonna take a stab and say I think it's from the 20's or 30's... just a guess..
