I've got a strange little copper coin. I found it detecting some years ago in Portland, OR. Perhaps it's a penny, but it's the edge that throws me. Not your typical US penny edge. I'm surprised in some of my general research there aren't more photos of coin edges.
As you may be able to see on the photo of the edge, it seems to taper in on both sides, forming a bit of a trapezoid shape.
So, geniuses of the coin world...can you help me identify this sucker?
I don't have a sensitive enough scale right now, but I took some calipers to it and it measures in at 18.77mm whereas a current US penny is at 19.05mm
