permission vanished

I think I'd just tell him it's the last winter of free wood. It's a getting a little late, to put anybody on the spot, for something survival related. Who knows, maybe he'll have a whole lot of time this winter, to re-think the hunting situation. I don't think it would bother me much. to give up the more common stuff, and something that isn't in real good shape, but I dug up something in fine condition, or really odd or unusual, I'd want to keep it. Buttons and bullets just don't seem all that exciting to me. I get, that there different types, and have different meanings, and value.

Most people should already have all the wood they expect to need for the winter. Would think he's counting on that wood. Losing a hunting spot kind of sucks, maybe a friendship, but taking away something he really needs in the winter, is much worse.

If your cutting fire wood for this winter it will not be dry in time anyway . Call him and tell him he is out ! That's bull đź’© , nobody I know is getting rich diggin this stuff . That's rediculus ! Start selling the rights to fire wood on your land and use the money to wine and dine the little old lady with the best civi land in the county :)

Keep junk in your finds pouch and hand it over... that simple and some clad

I have another friend who has a huge farm right up against the Gettysburg Battlefield. we asked him to hunt.... he said he'd let us except he has a group of people who lease his land just to metal detect!

I had a similar situation and I explained that I have several thousands of dollars invested in equipment, thousands of hours of time spent learning to hunt properly and I would be using my time in the heat and bugs looking for something lost in the ground that he had no chance of finding and that was of no value to him. My hopes are to build a collection worthy of donating to a museum.

At that he relented and gave permission. Didn't find anything but trash anyway
