This year was an interesting year for me to say the least. A lot changed in my life. Since people still wonder where I am hiding I thought I would give all a heads up.

First, my Chris Craft boat decided to grind the main gears in the out drive about a mile out in lake St Clair. I had to put my flippers on and mask and tow it back into the marina. That took about 3 hours I am guessing and I was absolutely exhausted once I finally got it to the dock.

Second, my trusty Ford Exploder (Is that even possible) decided to run only on 5 cylinders after over 300 thousand miles and give me all kinds of fits driving in the city. On the highway, you really couldn't tell.

So I decided to go on a small shopping spree in September and upgrade my treasure hunting rides.

My first purchase was a newer truck. I chose a 2008 Chevy Avalanche. Then I drove a bit over 3 hours into Canada and bought a Cargo-Glide. You can find them on fee-bay. It is like a sliding shelf with sides to hold all my scuba gear and be able to slide it out of the bed without having to climb in the back.

My next purchase was a Mirage Rampage open bow boat. This boat will get me in all the inland lakes that I want to play in and pilfer and help me find new sand bars. Hopefully not the way I found one in one lake. I ran into it at almost full throttle. However it gave up 19 gold rings to Kevin and I so I can't complain too much! Oldest ring dated was a class ring from 1910.

My third and final purchase I bought from another friend and a member of this forum Clad-2-Meet-U. It is a 23' Sea Ray Sundancer with all the comforts of home for the larger lakes like lake Huron, Michigan and lake St Clair. I had my boat shrink wrapped last weekend. This is the exact same one.

My Chris Craft is going to Texas with me for Christmas. I am giving it to one of my daughters to repair and have with my grandchildren. I rebuilt the interior including a new floor and the motor. It just needs an out drive and it will be good to go.

On another note, I have never been given a vacation from a forum before. I might have deserved it but not being able to say my peace before it happened seemed wrong. The mods have a tough job to do and I respect that. I decided to keep my comments and posts to a minimum and leave all the BS threads completely alone. My opinion is I helped more on here than I have called out. But I am allowed my opinion and so are all the other members of this fine forum. We all know people come and go. I used to love a sign I saw on a business once. It said. Everyone brings pleasure in going through the door. Some by going in, others by going out.

No matter who comes and goes, the forum will keep on. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and a very safe and prosperous new year. Enjoy your life as you only have one to live. Peace and happiness to all the many folks I have had the pleasure of speaking to and knowing on this forum.

Great! Good to see you again Bob! Sounds like you've had some adventures this Summer...both here and afield:laughing: Getting the boot off a Forum is another bucket list kind of experience, so good on ya for punching that ticket!

Nice boats and truck as well...envious here!..I'm still running a homebuilt kayak on a 01 Chevy Prism!

Man them houses built on top of each other.
Nice to treat yourself once in a while. You got to as we only live once and when we are done, hopefully there are no regrets

Glutton for punishment messing with those inboards. Man I hate those things. At least when a outboard fails it doesn't leave a huge hole below the waterline. Be glad you don't deal with saltwater. I used to own 5 boats back in the 90's so I always had one that ran:lol:

Awesome new toys! Looking forward to seeing your finds and hearing great stories. Your post reminds me of a spot I have been wanting to hit, but I need a kayak to get to it :) Wish list item that I'll get someday.

Goin to have to work double shifts to replace all that cash. Life is just a bunch of purchases...... one toy at a time. 3 hours in the water....... may you need a trolling moter.

Thanks for the update scuba and really enjoy seeing someone getting ramped up for the next season. Love the Pics!

I can't believe you swam your boat back to shore. Are you superman? lol congrats on the new toys and good to see you back.

LOL not superman but I had my fins AND the wind was blowing exactly the way I was going. NO WAY would I have been able to do it without those two positives on my side

They are all paid for except the Sea Ray. It will be paid off April 1st. I am retired and no money worries anymore.

Love inboards because of the swim platform. I know how to work on them also. 5 boats?? Wow.

Nice to hear from you boss, sounds like you're getting setup for a big year next year. Congrats on the new workhorses!

Tell me you bought a new detector to play with while in the buying spirit

LOL now why would I want that. My CZ-21 and my Tigershark work flawlessly. There is no other machines I would care to dive with at all. My E-Trac also works just fine and keeps finding me silver.

Naa, I am a happy camper. Well I am looking for a motor home to pull my Rampage and keep my detectors and scuba gear in. Stay tuned!!

Welcome back! Missed your posts :tissue:

Find that machine gun yet? :D

Seriously look forward to your next finds posts, even if I have to wait awhile.

Congrats on the nice new equipment

No new guns this year. Another WW1 bomb was the only off the wall thing. That makes 5 now. I gave this one to a marina that has been super nice to me. hopefully this year with a new bottom scanner and my cruiser I will find something way out of the ordinary like a machine gun or canon.
