The family and I went camping up by the Canadian border with my folks this weekend. There's not much for little old towns up here so I decided to drive 40 miles west this morning to hit one up.
I stopped by the park when I got there and found there was almost nothing to dig. Plus a guy came over and said they were doing a yearly fire department meal in the park later and he wasn't too keen about me digging up the park. I told him that's no problem since my plugs kept falling apart and were kind of messy.

I left the park and drove around town looking for curb strips and found 2 blocks worth on the edge of town.
For half of it I wasn't digging anything so I headed back towards my truck. I was almost back when I came across a good wheatie signal. Dug out the plug and out pops a 1910 Wheatie! Good deal. Put the plug back in and noticed there was another similar signal. I popped the plug back out and dug out a 1917-D Wheatie! Bonus!
I put the plug back in and found there was one more lower pitched signal just like an Indianhead..... I popped out the plug yet again and out comes a 1904 Indianhead penny! Sweet!
After that there was nothing left so I kept walking. I went down the sidewalk and found nothing more so decided to turn around and rescan everything.
I came back to where I dug the spill and about a foot over got another Wheatie signal. Dug out the plug and out pops a 1920 Wheatie!

I dug a 1959-D memorial earlier in the hunt to complete the trifecta and also got a dress weight and old suspenders buckle.

Pretty good morning hunt...... It's a town I'll have to go back to.

Wow - those are in great shape! Congrats on a nice hunt.

I've haven't built up the nerve to hunt curb strips - does anyone get touchy about you hunting on/near their property?

Some very nice looking Wheat's and a fine looking Indian Tundra. The ground was really kind to those coins. Congrats! Trapper
Thanks Jack! I've only ever dug one really crusty Indian. They seem to always clean up nice. Wheats are kind of half and half...... older ones clean up good and the 30's - 50's usually are kind crusty and hard to clean.

Thanks SOC! I only hunt curb strips where I have permission for the yard or where the house is abandoned. I have the best luck in curb strips in little old towns.
