Thanks for all the comments guys. I'm still blown away by this find. Never expected to find anything like this. All I keep thinking about it who was the last person who held this before I pulled it out of the hole? What were they doing there? I'm going back to look for more in case it was a campsite. I'm thinking this may have been a place that they used to catch fish during the spawn. A seasonal camp maybe. I'm definitely going back with another purpose than before. Dig any deep, remote signal that I get. Jono; they dig some good stuff up your way, copper awls in Grand Portage from what I've heard. Every river bank has something and I will hit you up if I'm heading up the shore.

I'd invest in a big fat coil that will go really deep and see what else you can pull out of that site. Great find.
