I found this on the edge of an old farm field.
I am guessing part of an old car, but does anybody know more about it?
Body is brass, and the lettering looks like Made in USA, but I'm not sure.

Looks like a light for a vehicle, from an old motorcycle perhaps?

Early 1900s-1920 my guess..

Guessing an old fender mounted turn signal from some type of old car. What kind of car I have no clue. A friend of mine back in High School used to have a Dart that had similar lights though they were a different sytle.

Or it may have had a green lens on the other side and been on the front of boat?
-oops, just noticed that there's a clear lens on the other side (dang old eyes)

That's what I thought at first, but I believe they use red and green on boats.

Yeah. I started looking at them after I posted. They use red, green and white but white is a lone light that shines straight back.

The white light must be visible from all angles, the red only visible to other vessels to your starboard/right, and the green, only to port/left...

The working theory,.

In the middle of the dark, you can tell which is the front, back, and direction of another vessel, if you see their red light, you must yield, if you see their green light you have the right a way...
