Off work today..went ' tecting

Had to go to the doctor for blood work. So I decided to take the day off work. After I was finished at the doctor, I went detecting for a little while.

The park I had pronounced hunted out isn't after all. It's true, there is no such thing as hunted out.

I didn't stay out long. But I found 84¢. I'm happy.

Lots of history there in PA, your gunna find stuff in places you wouldnt think possible. New schools developed over farm land are 9/10 times overlooked by detectorists. Those are the sites worth spending some time in. I hit a school built in the 90's and found a king george the 2nd once, plus a merc and a bunch of Indian head pennies. Give it a try! Use historic imagery to get a better idea of what WAS there, not what IS there NOW. Nice haul congrats !!!

A local recreation complex that i was hesitant to go detect because it is relatively new has been an excellent source of clad coins. With the number of donors visiting that area it is always good for a few dollars in clad when i need to do some digging and don't want to drive 30 or so miles to the beach.

The same complex has yielded two silver dimes, one silver quarter, one 10k gold ring and three sterling rings.

Unfortunately other coil swingers have discovered that large complex and the take has decreased drastically.

But it is close to home.
