No disrespect TS, but you are limiting your time on your own for whatever reason. I've been in film/video production - shooting, editing etc for like 40 years and I see no technical reason to limit a video.
So, please at least be up front about that issue. And like you said, people don't have to watch of course. There is much value to your 'tests' and potentially turning off people is not the way to go to grow your channel.

But hey, it's your thang.

No. I don't think that would be beneficial. No one member should have free advertising over another member. It would seem logical at first, but what decides a 'stickie' worthy commercial?
Let the member just make threads.

TSS - again, no disrespect intended, but surely that's not a true admittance.
I understand the defensive responses however. It's really no ones business why you do them, or what you earn.

I'm sure your work is appreciated by many and instead of bickering and possibly dodging the issue, why not just put in a sig that you are compensated for certain vids and whatnot. Being up front will probably quiet a good part of the complaints. People are not making these comments lightly and I've read this forum for quite a while.

It's one thing to push for sponsors and likes when almost everyone who has internet knows that youtube pays money for sponsor counts and likes and a ton of other metrics and then to claim a channel makes no money is disingenuous to members. It's virtually impossible to not make money off of a youtube channel, even if it's coffee money.

And I'm sure you know, but many people may not know is when you sign up for a youtube channel 'business' you are expected to make quota and if you do not, you are punished or 'hidden'. Youtube does not want channel owners to state this. But I'm not a channel owner, but know many who are.

And you know I'm correct. I'm just offering some friendly advice so you don't have to play these games and get upset at people. :cool3:

Legend has individual volume control for each tone as well as tone breaks.
It's a bit of a job to try to figure out. I can set a lower freq tone and lower volume for the same notch, say iron. I will hear the iron info, but it will ring in a bass tone at lower volume to not annoy so much. I think this is quite a feature. I think it allows 6 tone breaks.

Also, Deji or whatever her name is of Legend website has been discussing the speaker volume issue. She thinks they may have figured it out for the next update. There were many people blowing the main speaker with it set at 6.
From all the forums around, people who went only 4-5 high never have had the problem. Soon as she was talking about this I turned mine down to 3.

I do and out in the swim area. But I'm not much help, I don't know what the hell I'm doing with the thing yet. Anything new has a learning curve.
This week at a reunion with miles of beach, I'm actually going to do my own tests with known stuff under 'markers' in the ground that I spend a majority of my time on.

I've always felt that real buried items are a truer test. But that's me.

TN, I watch your videos for the fact that I havent heard you call any machine junk,or worthless. Although I think you favor one machine over the other that's something we all do , personal preference. But I do like the way you try to show strengths and weaknesses in all machines without degrading the users,or machines in general

Well, some folks may dive with shaft fully collapsed.
Question is, is detector being negatively affected being fully or even almost fully collapsed?
I’ll let folks watch video and decide for themselves.

A child may use detector with shaft shortened too.
Could this affects ops?
Again folks can watch and decide.

May do similar test with 6” coil and show via video.
See if there’s any difference.

I never said anyone detects in that manner.
You notice the difference when the rod is extended ?
Same shaking yet no noise.
The question was is detector’s ops negatively affected with rod collapsed or almost fully collapsed? When sweeping normally say when diving with coil folded back due to diver’s orientation to detector being more or less horizontal to the earth’s floor.

Discredit what?
You see how Legend behaves. Actually the video shows strength of Legend. When rod is extended. Try that test I did using AKA Signum unit or a Blisstool unit. They stink to high heavens with small coil jolt impacts.

Folks may find this video beneficial.
Very good test process imo I used.
 
My Legend turns on by itself sometimes when I hook to charging port. Some times it don’t turn on.
Running V1.09.
