welcome from chicago suburbs. i'm new at this too. my kid also got me into this. between the two of us, we have three detectors now. sometimes i bring my brother or one of his kids along with us. sometimes i just go out solo.

its really a great hobby. you can never have to many detectors. i highly recommend getting one for yourself. we check each other's finds and try to guess what it is.

Well, we've gone out again and this time we got a 1937 merc
And a lot of trash
Ive had such a great time doing this the last couple weekends i deciced to purchase my own.
I ordered a discovery 3300
Any info on that MD would be helpful

Thanks for the welcome everyone,
I've done some research on the area we found the dime and I have a good feeling there could be plenty more
Its an old homestead dating back to 1830
I'll be out this weekend for sure

I'm in Pittsburgh, north Versailles Twp to be exact
Update on my finds
After the barber and merc finds I've found a few wheaties in the yard along with a 57 dime
I'm looking everywhere and spending alot of time on google earth lol
I've been back to the trail where I found my first two and havnt had any luck there since
I did receive the discovery 3300 and it seems to work pretty good
