Ask and you will run into some bureaucrat that does not know what folks who metal do and I will guarantee you they will tell you NO.

If there are no written laws preventing one from extracting something from the dirt then I just go ahead and detect. I have never had a problem Even did some detecting in an area where it was forbidden and was not bothered
That was before I found out it was forbidden.

Besides learning the BH Land Ranger Pro, I need to reach out to the local parks people and ask them to clarify their regs. The only mention of MDs is in a section where they ban everything from blasting to building shacks on park property. I need to find out if they issue permits if you promise not to leave big holes.
