New To The Forum

Hello

Hello everyone!

I am just beginning, have not even started yet! Borrowing my father-in-laws' metal detector. Any words for a newbee in southwestern PA???

I am in central PA, once you get the hang of it and make some discoveries, like me you will be wishing you were east of the Susquehanna...LOL. Good luck, a lot of nice finds in PA.

No sense in continuing the welcomes. If you check out the
original posters profile he hasn't been back here since 2009 ;
I always wonder why some very old threads get resurrected.

Hello from Orlando

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I've just picked up a used BH IV to see if this is something I'll like. I've only been out in my yard and haven't managed to find much. Staples, scrap metal, screw, an old nail & a matchbox car.

I was hoping to get out more but an emergency vet trip has kept me close to the house all weekend. I travel a lot for work all of the state for my job so I'm hoping to be able to bring my MD along.

I've enjoyed reading about everyone's finds and tips so hopefully one day I'll have something more interesting to share!

I always wonder why some very old threads get resurrected.

I just joined yesterday, and this is my first post. This old thread is again being resurrected because there's a link to this thread in the welcome message to new members.

It's nice to see I've got some company here in CT! This really, really new newbie can use some pointers, for sure!

After looking at Warriors finds, I'm am getting excited about learing this hobby. I live in north central nc and have always had an interest in finding relics. In my life, I have found many arrowheads, Minnie balls and other old stuff including a 1892 lady head dime. Now that I have been given a Garrett ace 250, with Garrett's pin pointer and digging tool complete with treasure bag and earphones All this is for Father's Day. I am rearing to go! Thank you for this forum. I would like to connect with like minded hunters in the Reidsville NC area. In my earlier years I worked on various tobacco farms, then was a surveying tect with the Dept of Transportation. My family has lived in Rockingham county for over 5 generations so I know of some great places to investigate. I am married to my high school sweetheart and have been since 1975 and have been for the past 39 years. I have a daughter in nursing school and a grandchild who calls me papaw. I am a retired paramedic who is currently working full time as a RN in a Cardiac Cath lab and have been in this position for over 15 years.
But enough about me. Let's go hunting sometime. I have a lot to learn from you. John Wilson
