I watched the video embedded into your link, why do you think they would show a Doctorate of Philosophy degree when the guy was talking about "we have many people with doctorate degrees working here"? I'd think they would have been better off showing a Doctorate of Engineering degree or Physics...that was just weird.
Maybe it took a person holding doctorate of Philosophy in order so Minelab didn't make Equinox boat anchor weight like the rest.

Not sure. I'm thinking the camera/editing crew for the video might have though a Doctorate of Philosophy was something to show that was impressive (not that it isn't), but didn't connect that the context of the video was more about electronics and software?
One thing about the Equinox.
It I think will (by itself) show the advantage when using TRUE multi freq vs single freq..
Can be shown with Equinox alone, won't need other Vlf detectors to see differences.
Now this difference might not be shown on all targets buried,,but in the long haul will show advantage of multi freq.
Now, this is not to say some detecting scenarios, using single freq may provide an advantage(s).
I don't think we have seen this before, if it turns out to be true.
A detector basically that tells on itself, as far as which tech is better.

After a couple weeks use, you'll probably not be very dependent on the labeling of buttons.
More like a computer keyboard.
Does look nicer though.
I suppose a person could use other screen protector materials if they run out of the 2 provided with units.
Maybe some helpful info for folks.

This sounds like this machine is going to be the greatest invention since brassieres that unsnap in the front.
Will anyone think any less of me if I don't pre order one? Will I lose my Mancard? Will I get banned from FMDF? Will the children in the park point at me and laugh(anymore than they do now) if I'm using something else?
I'm sure this detector will change the face of detecting as we know it, and my machines will become wheel chocks.
