Might have to take a drive in the Spring.

I am in Illinois, but not too far from you. Chebanse (most likely you've never heard of it). It's about 75 miles away from you.

Violator,

I think I may know Chebanse???? My sister lives in Champaign and I take different routes everytime I go so I think I've been through there. Is it a small town?

Let me know maybe we can tag team the area. I have only seen one other MD guy around here and he's I believe 80 or so and only does around his property and sometimes the parks (I've talked to him in the past and he's one of the reasons I am getting into this). The other MDs I've seen are vacationers but only around the Indiana Beach resort areas.

There's another guy on here from Lafayette....so there are some closer hunters.

Small, yes, about 1200...but I'm an hour north of Champaign. I'm guessing you wouldn't take that route (unless you went to Chicago first).
I'm right smack between Chicago & Champaign, an hour each way.

Hi Permanentlylost,

I miss NC! I was stationed at Camp Lejuene NC (Jacksonville) for awhile back in the early 80s. I used to go up and down the coast a lot with the wife and kids and loved it (once you got a way from Jacksonville) and the fresh seafood....

My brother was stationed there in the 90's. After a few visits I had to move here. Can't beat the seafood, fishing and the weather.

I have driven through there. I used to visit people in Elgin and Glenview and then drive down to Champaign.

Brother you have got that right! We are looking at possibly moving soon. The VA docs tell me I need to move to a warmer climate (NC is warm but it gets cold too lol) and I would love to move to the NC/SC areas.

Welcome to the forum. A great place to be. I am also from Indiana. Just south of Ft. Wayne. Decatur. Right now I am in the Philippines. We live here during the winter.
About that detector. Well I hate to say this. The delivery man went on strike for a month... Just kidding. Have fun with it. And good luck... KEN
