New CTX coil

Im being told it may weigh as much as the 17" and float like a cork. Man...... someone say its not so. Someone said the 10" was a really bad floater. I dont mind a little float. Having used the Aqua Sound with that round solid coil ... i can tell you it floated like a frezbee. But i learned how to control it and at the end of the day i wasnt as tired as using the Xcal. They just keep trying to edge me toward one of those CTXs.

It's 3 oz heavier then the 17 and is designed to sink in water based on a person who test ran one. I sent him a message this AM and plans on releasing a video here soon. Kinda dissapointed in the weight but it makes sense.

Dont make sense to me...... you would think they would want to work on the negitives to give a better product.

The dealer notification went out on Monday to all our current dealers. They were made aware that pre-orders can be taken. We will follow up on that. Here is the msrp, its $450 USD.

$450 for a coil? There is definitely room for competition out there on coils and to make a more considerately priced great detector.

~you would be shocked how much work goes into making a new product. $450 might seems like a lot but it's probably inline with what they have invested creating it... I won't be buying it, it's out of my price range

its a bit ridiculous but what I expected and for a coil that weighs more than the 17 and smaller just don't make sense to me but I guess will see.

Price a used Whites bigfoot coil if you can find one. Last one I bidded on went for $850. Seen one go for $1250 just for the coil:shock: If it works youll pay the CTX off in one hole. My 17" coil paid the CTX off more than once:lol:

Coiltek has to pay MInelab for the rights to use the chip in the CTX coil. Only way the CTX will recognize the coil.

According to someone i asked........ its not as deep but as expected better than the standard. Shes heavy out of the water. You are right..... ML has a big hand in that high price. I know SunRay had to stop making the inlines for just that reason..... price increases.

My big concern is ..... someone i know when thru 3 coils before getting one of the 10" to work in the water.... not as waterproof as expected.

That price....... well i was considering a CTX with that coil, but thats a no go. Id have to find more than one piece of gold in that hole to pay it all off.

$450 is nuts! That is a higher MSRP than the 17. And it weighing more than a bigger coil is ridiculous too!!!

I'm honestly pleased with my 17. For hunting in the sand, it pinpoints just fine. Might be different inland, hunting for relics but...

.

If I know something is really going to up my game I will go for it But I am still using stock coils only on my excalibur because the only thing I see being a real add is a cherry location. I agree 450.00 is insane, My CTX is gone now, great machine, just not for me

Joe, with your gold count I think that standard excal coil on your blue viper is doing just fine buddy,,,, I am with you, a CTX may be a great machine but its just not for me,,,,,I am just a Florida cracker needing it simple but did meet a fellow the other day who was a Tennessee cracker, AND he was using a CTX,,,,,saying the same thing, just not for him and going back to his excals,,,,,GL HH

Dew, you got enough gold buddy,,,,,get that CTX,,,,,,just hope its not like when you waited forever to get a CZ and decided it wasn't for you and took forever to sell it,,,,,heck, maybe I will get a good deal from you when you go to get rid of it,,,,,:laughing:GL HH

CZ has been longgg gone. So is the Aqua Sound. You have to remember i used an Explorer for many years. People jumping into the CTX have quite the learning curve coming from say an Xcal's simplicity.

Weight and cost....... well call me cheap.

Wrong, wrong wrong....... This is what I thought too, but all a user has to do is turn it on and hit relic mode. It goes into all metal and then u hunt by tones (like the excal) but you also get the VDI. If you are in saltwater, you hit the seawater button and it auto tunes to conditions. Couldn't be simpler of a machine. All the other bells and whistles...Sure if you want but none are needed. :D

Can you set the ctx to ignore pennies? Or would you increase the possibility of missing a good target by doing that? 95% of my finds in the water are pennies... sick of em!
